Challenging Rewarding Work
Specialist I (Current Employee) –  Montogmery, ALOctober 1, 2018
I started working at Hyundai Power Transformers USA as a Specialist I.

Although no workplace is perfect, I have had a very positive experience working at HPT. The company is definitely multi-national, and is relatively new (less than 10 years of operation). In many ways the leadership team is still trying to get established. I've been able to witness good people thrive and climb the ladder quickly, and I have personally been the beneficiary of exceptional mentorship and professional support from my Manager. I have had opportunities to learn at a rapid rate and enjoy the chances I get to witness decision making processes.

It is hard to work here if you are prone to drama. Communication barriers can make people paranoid and insecure.
Pros
Opportunities to grow, Young company culture, International Environment, Excellent Benefits
Cons
Poor planning/forecasting makes job difficult, Hours not flexible

not a good place to learn. Pay raises were stopped when I was working there. Highly stressful and not family oriented. Benefits were good and a very clean environment. Changes may have come since I left that may make it a better place to work now.

Great benefits and above State avgerage wages while learning new skills
Team Member (Current Employee) –  Montgomery, ALJune 14, 2017
HPT has excellent benefits for all members, including 9 paid holidays, more than 10 vacation days and 3 personal days for most team members.
HPT provides life insurance and pays 100% of the STD and LTD insurance for all fulltime members that have completed probation. Most companies charge for these benefits.
HPT provides 9 paid holidays annually, and a 401k plan. Training is ongoing and wages are increased twice annually at fixed intervals.
Pros
Benefits, good wages, fund day, ongoing training in all areas, strong manufacturng, quality team, great HR support for benefits and policy explination.
Cons
This company is better than most companies that I have worked for

Horrible Management
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  AdminAugust 20, 2016
Management at all levels is a joke. They do not listen to the employees about the best possible solutions to issues. Instead of taking advice from the members on the floor performing the jobs they would rather just cut corners to save money, but it costs more in the long run. Management at all levels cant perform the tasks that they themselves are asking other members to perform, but want to try and tell the team members what to do and how to do it.

Pros
same temp year round in the plant
Cons
lack of respect in treatment of Americans

HPT is a new company with tremendous oppertunity in US market
Company Team Member Previous Employee (Former Employee) –  Montgomery, ALMay 31, 2014
The opportunity for Korean national is very high at HPT.
The company has a bright future and will mature into a strong contender in the US Market in just a short few years.
Growth is inevitable.

HPT provides solid work opportunities for US hourly production members in the Montgomery, Alabama area.

Work is stable and the production team has opportunity for long term employment if cooperation and quality are achieved in conjunction with productivity goals.

Long term maximum development will be achieved and relations with employees will be developed when more integration of US Management is allowed to participate in a partnership at top levels of the company development along side of Korean top level management.

The current structure is under development but the future will be bright for the company and its employees.

Rewards should be considered on achievement, performance, and knowledge valuable to company development, structure, and meeting goals and expectations of the customer and the company.

Values and goals must be clearly defined to obtain the best result of leadership.

When the company develops more over time, everyone will walk the same path to achieve the goals, then true harmony, and profitability will be achieved.

This will come in time. The opportunity is great. The company is strong. All other things will be developed.
Pros
Great Benefits in medical, dental ect, intelligent Korean management . The company has strong future possible for employees.
Cons
No US Members in senior level management team.
