Probably one of the more toxic work environments I have ever worked at. If the management isn’t screwing something up and lacking in communication then you have your fellow employee making work life hard. They do not pay well for the stress incurred during this job. If you want to be broke and stay broke at a young age then become a bus driver.
Lots of time off
Lots of time off.
The Job pays Good for the Drivers, but coming back and forth to work min 4 hours guarantee aday isnt worth it. They have field trips and some school activities you can get but keep in mind that olders drivers have priority than new ones!.
They help you get Your Cdl B
When there is not school, you have to apply for unemployment
Loved my job and what I did, but by far a terrible place to work unless you like being harassed and working for a place who’s human resource is a joke. Very unprofessional and micromanaged. You will do the same thing every day and never get a chance to grow and if you try to better yourself it will be for nothing. No one will ever appreciate you for the good you put in! It is very sad. They also fired people for getting Covid after working there for years! Overall terrible management!!!!
Hours are decent
Micromanaged, harassment in work place
It just amazes me how much people from different ethic backgrounds can work together as a team to transport the students to & from school. The support from the office staff is just endless! And the maintenance staff works continually to insure the buses are running safely & efficiently! I am very proud to work for the Illinois School Bus Company
There is no professional management at this place. You are looking at a set of people that has been "grand-fathered" into their positions. They have No people management skills at ALL. They have no training, and corporate doesn't care. The Union is in bed with management. If you are not a person that likes to treat people badly, by any means necessary, then you won't make it to be part of " the click." If you are A God fearing person who believes in equality, do not op to work here.
The only good thing is that they pay weekly, if you can last that long.
If dispatch, management, safety person, or payroll person, doesn't like you then your days and hours shorten until you disappear.

Ownership and management was not trustful. Programs were not implemented to help drivers succeed. Most employees were friendly and helpful. Driving the students to their schools and return home was the most rewarding part of the job. Dealing with the school personnel was a pleasure. Most drivers were friendly and extremely helpful. Routes were easy to follow. Driver facilities were adequate.
The place is drama central. Everyone backstabs. Management has there heads so far up there A** it's funny...you only get about 4 hr a day. And the pay is a joke.... Overall not worth it.
Get plenty of free time during the day
Pay, management, Drama
A good company to work for. They appreciate their workers. There are, most of the time, many opportunities to work extra hours. If you are a bus driver there are also opportunities to work in the summer if not, you can collect unemployment.
They could be a little better with communication.
It's not a bad place to work at. There in need of drivers. They train you there at the location to get your license and endorsement. While your training they allow you to be a montior so you have hands on what it's like to be on a bus.
They train you to get your cdl and endorsement.
Pay for your license, get reimbursed once you turn receipt in
it was a fun working experience getting to take care of children on a bus and making sure that they are all safe. while being on break we were allowed to go home and spent time with our families as long as we were back in time for our second shift.
I feel that there could be more variety of work related responsibilities. I feel that the pay could be better and I also feel that we should be given more hours. I feel that the individual/individuals that you work with on a daily basis could be more sincere when talking to you and understand you better.
try to understand one another better.
