Good place bad environment. I like doing my job but it was a lot of things we had to do for a little bit of pay...i was a lead man at one time but the pay was only 1.00 more from me being on the line...needed better pay and enviroment.
Was nice place to work for 15 of the 17 years there

The job was really not that bad. Paid based on percentage of product made. Make more get more money. The first 15 years it was easy to make over your 110% and get paid top dollar but then they raised the standard when everyone was making the top dollar. a scheduled day was 8 hours but if someone on the next shift called in YOU are expected to stay over or come in early to cover for them with only hours notice before your scheduled shift ends. With low staff this amounted to a lot of 12 hour days.

Typical day at work would be trying to get caught up after being left of day shift stuff . I learned that every body doesnt respect each other the same . Work place culture was friends was like family . Not really a hard job .The most enjoyable part of the job was being around good friends .
Ilpea has not been my favorite place that I have worked at. The job is not hard but they over work everyone and make you feel like if you do not work like they want you to they will replace you. They will make you work 12 hours 7 days a week if they could.
Most people who work here earn a lot of hours as in 6 to 7 days per week. The environment is very stressful and some employees are sketchy to the point that shootings and crime are very possible here. The location of the business is in the middle of a poverty ridden area too. Low wages, low benefits makes this a difficult place to work at.
Extruder Operator (Former Employee) – Galesburg, IL – November 1, 2016
A typical night at work involved a drunk manager firing people while drunk, sometimes in front of corporate and customers. A typical day was good, afternoon was super choppy with a terribly under-qualified shift operator.
