The awards speak for themselves. Management is very transparent and the company overall is flat. Free lunch is provided on Fridays, and there are a lot of employee involvement programs (like co-ed volleyball)
Pros
Free Lunches on Friday, easy commute, great management

Good Company, Great Culture, Uncertain Career Path
Implementation Engineer (Current Employee) –  Lexington, MASeptember 29, 2017
For the most part, Imprivata is a great place to work. The products are second to none and the people are great to work with, with few exceptions. The job you take will be rewarding and important until it's not. Many of the positions within Imprivata have unclear growth paths and unless you know someone who knows someone that has a line on a better position, which may, in fact, be lateral. Know what you want before going into an interview.
Pros
Great Culture, Good People, Great Product
Cons
Unclear Growth Paths

Great place to work - limited growth in some departments
Sales order administrator (Current Employee) –  Bedford, MAAugust 7, 2017
Great place to work, some departments are more strict than others, growth rate is based off the department as well. Coworkers are fantastic however, overall great place to work.

Run for the hills
UX Designer (Current Employee) –  Lexington, MAApril 19, 2017
This has to be the most dysfunctional place I have ever worked. Nothing gets done, nobody can make a decision, and there is very little communication. There is so much back stabbing and territory grabbing that people cannot focus on what really needs to get done. Many of the products are running on old technology/platforms which makes it very hard to bring things up to date. There is little to no vetting of ideas or products with actual customers, lots of new features are based on what the PM wants instead of what the user needs. Although the benefits are pretty good and the salary reasonable the lack of collaboration between departments is awful and makes the atmosphere miserable on a daily basis.
Pros
Free food cool office setting
Cons
Company lacks direction, lacks planning/forecasting and the wrong people are calling the shots

Imprivata Inc is a process driven company with its primary focus in Health care sector. It gives me complete exposure with Agile methodologies. Every month we have some cultural activity going on with whole team. Overall its fun to work here.

Very interesting products and with that comes smart people who work here. Learned a lot and got a good amount of experience. Potentially more communication from departments.

I had such an amazing time working for Imprivata. They treat their interns very well. I was given an amazing opportunity to help out two different groups and learned so much from my time there.

Still a somewhat small company with growing pains. Depending on the department you are in, you can be setup for success or failure. Marketing, Sales, IT, and HR are good departments with great people. Finance is a different story. It all comes down to one veteran who shouldn't be there and constantly complains about the company and others. When you have to rely on a person to provide adequate training and support, and you don't get it, it leads to a difficult situation. I've seen good people dismissed because of one bad egg, but that's the nature of the beast. If I were looking to join Imprivata, I would think twice if it comes down to joining the Sales Order Processing Team.
Pros
Free food, Some nice people, Nice building

Unfortunately it has changed
Sales/Finance (Current Employee) –  Lexington, MAAugust 11, 2015
Used to be a small fun growing company, but has recently gone downhill. Certain management has become stale and only concerned about what makes them look good. Team members are hostile and will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat. Be very careful of the cutthroat environment and team members looking for ways to make others look bad. If you're not perfect on day one, tread lightly. It's a shame it has come to this.
Pros
Free food and nice small industry environment
Cons
Veteran employees are vindictive and certain management is clueless

Sustaining Engineering Manager (Current Employee) –  Lexington, MAJuly 29, 2014
Overall good place to work for most jobs.
Trying very hard to build a lasting unique culture.
Lots of customers added but $$ values are very small.
Releases are timely but content may be reduced.
Pros
Free lunches, regular meetings, good open communication
Cons
Processes are defined but often not followed.

Great place to work at that is still small-ish
Strategy Consultant Intern (Former Employee) –  Lexington, MASeptember 20, 2012
The people there are very friendly and the culture is pretty relaxed. Management is pretty good about keeping people in the loop via meetings and such.
