The most useful review selected by IndeedCan be stressful at times. They need to realize their employees are their greatest strength. Expected to much from untrained techs. they let a lot of good techs go and hired bad ones
Pros
Thought the owner was down to earth and cared about his employees
Cons
mangers, Hr, Day supervisor need to be changed out

Work Hard, Play Hard environment. Interesting Hands On Work.
HR Mgr (Current Employee) - White Salmon, WA - February 28, 2023
Excellent employer for entry level. No experience required. ICE does the training. There is opportunity for advancement. You can make a career from an entry level job. We fill promotions from within. I have promoted entry level technicians into Engineering, IT, Quality, Administration, Supervision, Machining, and more.

Innovative Composite Engineering insights
What people like
- Energizing work tasks
- Clear sense of purpose
- Ability to learn new things
Inclusive, Comraderie, Excellent
Composite Technician (Former Employee) - White Salmon, WA - June 10, 2021
ICE is a great place to work and be proud of what you do. The compensation is great and allows me the Fiscal freedom to pursue my hobbies and passions. I feel appreciated and apart of something bigger than what most of my peers are doing.
Pros
We work to develop amazing ideas daily, I really feel like I am contributing directly to our Countries future, I feel like I am in my career home.
Cons
We go to work really early, but you get used to it quick. The upside of that is sleeping in on Friday. 4 day work week!!!

Low pay, bad management
Composite Technician (Current Employee) - White Salmon, WA - May 4, 2021
In comparison to other companies in the area doing the same thing, they pay several dollars less an hour. They get you to think there will be bonuses that will compensate for that but it's very rare that you get one and on the occasion that you do, it's not much. Also, HR will continually work against you to lower your "points" that contribute to your yearly raise, and will use absolutely anything you do against you and never give you credit when your actually doing a good job.
Pros
Steady hours
Cons
Healthcare sucks. HR is horrible. Pay is very low

Home outside of home - A positive, encouraging place to grow!
Composite Technician (Current Employee) - White Salmon, WA - March 5, 2020
The atmosphere here at Innovative Composite Engineering is positive and encouraging - If you are a hard worker, dependable and have a good ATTITUDE - You’ll do great :)
I’ve worked at I.C.E. for soon to be 3 years and I find that the people that work hard, assert themselves and show that quality is important to them, excel. We are a team and when people complain or drag their feet, it effects everyone - those people don’t stay long. We have all workers from all different types of racial backgrounds and each person is skilled in their each unique ways. Your opinion and ideas here are valued. I’m thankful for the opportunity that they gave me to learn a new trade and grow here at I.C.E. I feel that as you improve your skills, you are fairly compensated. The Human Resource staff are always making improvements and thinking of news ways to incorporate fun and positivity into our daily lives.
The schedule has been more than fair! I’ve needed to change my scheduled hours three times now and they have been more than patient and kind with me :)

Caution
Composite Technician (Former Employee) - White Salmon, WA - December 22, 2019
Look, I liked this place but it was a sweatshop. Plus they had zero interesting compensating for my experience,
I'm happy to shop my skills elsewhere.

Casual fun environment
Team Member (Current Employee) - White Salmon, WA - November 27, 2019
I am currently employed and have been for over 10 years. I am proud of this company and thankful for the opportunities and continued support in my career. Management here is committed to the success and growth of their employees. Solid in their commitment to keep us employed (no layoffs) even thru the 2008 recession. I take pride in being part of a talented team that makes cool product. We dream big and work hard!

I was sick several times in a week
Administrative Assistant to HR (Former Employee) - White Salmon, WA - August 19, 2019
HR was not HR more business oriented. Employees not treated fairly and pay was not fair. Discriminatory towards whites. Mexicans allowed to deviate from others. Mexicans made leads without experience!

Hostile work environment, toxic HR, poor management
Composite Technician (Former Employee) - White Salmon, WA - March 20, 2019
This organization is a good way to begin working in the local aerospace and manufacturing industry. They will employ most anyone and due to being such a toxic workplace they do not fire employees even for grievous mistakes. As such the management and competant employees are overworked, underpayed, and fingers are always being pointed.
Pros
4 ten hour shifts
Cons
Terrible pay, stressful, toxic human resources

Accountant / ERP Specialist (Former Employee) - White Salmon, WA - December 12, 2018

Floor manufacturing with out much appreciation.
Composite Technician (Former Employee) - White Salmon, WA - March 16, 2018
Employees in most positions are vastly underpaid. Most people are nice to work with, but dealing with management is very stressful. You are closely monitored on how long you take your breaks.
Pros
Possible monthly production bonus
Cons
No PTO or sick leave til you work there a year. Only 6 holiday days.

Pretends to be bigger than it is
Composite Technician (Former Employee) - White Salmon, WA - January 25, 2018
Huge disconnection between management and "the floor". There is a select circle of employees who click together, and if you aren't one of them immediately, you never will be. Good people work there, make no mistake. The people in charge however, only get their information from rumor and gossip and make important decisions based on that.
The company owner likes to make a show of how hard he works, but is barely there anymore, maybe one total week a month or less. Overworked, salaried engineers are made to stay for multiple 14+ hour days on their specific projects. Basic maintenance not being performed on the building and machines because the maintenance guy is fabricating new machines that may or may not be used. Laughably low wages, especially compared to other composite companies.
In short: Good people, terrible management.
Pros
Keg in the breakroom, only open Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm
Cons
Hr, Ceo, management, low wages

Horrible place to work
Composite Technician (Current Employee) - White Salmon, WA - November 14, 2017
Very poor management and very disrespectful and arrogant to their employees. Lying, manipulative, and not even compensated properly for the time you work.

Good place
Bookkeeper (Current Employee) - White Salmon, WA - August 29, 2017
It is a good place to work, I just think there is a huge lack of communication and feedback about your position until it is too late for you to do anything, while some people literally can break all the rules, do nothing and never get a word said to them and advance. Meanwhile, you have to do multiple positions, without recognition, pay as well as mistakes might be made and you will be demoted for that.
Pros
Lots of benefits
Cons
Extra jobs with no pay

Computer Technician (Former Employee) - White Salmon, WA - March 8, 2017
night crew was fun to work and hangout with the environment was good. a typical day is getting to work at 3pm and when you begin you have to find all the items you need to make items and remember to log the work you do and then you get off at 1am.
Pros

Cons

Productive workplace that even has a keg if you are over 21
Composite Technician (Former Employee) - White Salmon, WA - April 20, 2015
This place is very productive and filled with hard workers. The place is always cleaned up efficiently at the end of the day and the managers; Sandra and Julian are super nice understanding people. The only downside to the WHOLE facility is that they have a terrible HR dept. and a minimum wage production line with bonus incentives. Other than the low starting wage and the HR dept. lady Laurie Stanford the place is an amazing place to work at.

Management and associates have good attitudes, but work environment is lacking
Process Engineer (Former Employee) - Bingen, WA - July 3, 2013
Management has the best intentions, is generous to the community, and gives opportunities for innovation and advancement. However, their management tends to be heavy-handed.
Associates are good and friendly.
Work tends to be somewhat stressful due to unnecessary poor planning. Many fires (figuratively speaking) to put out.
Smoking is not allowed for any employees at work or home.
Pros
Flexible schedule, opportunity to be innovative, good managers and associates, generous bonuses
Cons
Unnecessary stressful environment, low compensation for engineers, some long hours
