Good company to work for. There are opportunities for advancement depending upon which contract you are working for. Salary is dependent upon position and years of experience. No complaints

Would Never Work For Inserso (GSC Contract)
Tier 1 Assistant Lead (Former Employee) –  San Antonio, TXJuly 10, 2019
My overall rating of Inserso for the GSC contract is a 2 mainly because the supervisors were two faced. As an assistant lead, I saw how they would act nice and understanding to agents but inside the Tier 1 Leads chat room we had to be in, they would make constant jokes regarding a tech who had constant long calls, use accidental AUX codes, or lock their common access card. If you were stuck on a long call (for the help desk contract) expect to be micromanaged. Nothing was worse than having to stand behind an employee walking through troubleshooting methods they knew or secretly logging onto their computer to report their status because they were on a long call. Slow computers, networks, long installations, and even the customer can lead to a call being long which seemed to be considered for long calls Incorrectly assigning a Remedy ticket would also generate constant review of your work tickets.

Advancement was never truly an option there. Positions were rarely available. Now that I am elsewhere, I feel the best option for a job seeker would be to gain a few months experience and locate a more technical IT position for the government. Because the calls were repetitive like Office installs, unable to print, clinical account lockouts, if you had a prolonged stay at the GSC, you definitely lose the ability to practice new IT skills or practices.

The VP of Inserso tends to low ball salaries. I took the assistant lead position to gain a few months of management experience. What also led me to leave the position was they were stripped of the contract they had shortly after
more... I was promoted. Therefore you would be unable to argue that management was truly a problem.  less

Small Company Big Heart
Tier 1 Technical Support (Former Employee) –  San Antonio, TXSeptember 19, 2018
This company may be small but it truly cares about it employees. They valued high call takers with poor work ethic which brings morale down. They have incentives for hard workers but unfortunately in some criteria "hard work" is ill defined.

Awesome company to work for!
Help Desk Technician (Current Employee) –  San antonioSeptember 13, 2018
Inserso has been the best company Ive worked for. Management is tenured and knows what they're doing and HR is so personalized and is a great group of individuals. They are a company that actually cares about you. They've offered incentives out of their pockets that wasn't mandatory to help motivate us within the work place and company events as well. If the contract in my department wasn't forcefully ending with the company I would be with them for years to come.
Pros
Personalized company, Fair pay, Weekly/monthly incentives

None

ColdFusion Developer, Contractor (Former Employee) –  Fort Sam Houston, TXAugust 20, 2018
This role was for a government contract so, although I did not find the government employment environment to be enjoyable, I did enjoy working with the Inserso team.

Great Entry Level Job
Desktop Support Technician - System Administrator (Current Employee) –  San Antonio, TXAugust 4, 2018
This job is great for someone trying to understand the basics of an IT help desk. Upward mobility depends on which route you want to take. If you want to be a Lead then it may take a while, if you are looking to go to Tier 2, DEE, or SCCM then you have a faster chance of moving.

Good leadership

Government Work
Lead Oracle DBA (Current Employee) –  San Antonio, TXMarch 21, 2018
Great environment and fantastic company, but it is contract work. Government is always changing, shrinking, which makes life difficult on contract employees.

Looking for something long term, which Inserso cant promise unless they win contracts.
Pros
management, fellow contractors
Cons
contract work

Good solid company
Federal Contractor (Former Employee) –  Lackland AFB, TXSeptember 22, 2017
I don't have anything negative to say about this company. They are in the DoD contracting business and they do things right. They had all their procedures down and I was able to get my Government clearance and my Common Access Card issued in less than a week.
Pros
The site location had an indoor cafeteria with a coffee bar
Cons
The office I was in was very cramped.

Poor management
Database Administrator (DBA) Responsibilities (Current Employee) –  San Antonio, TXJuly 11, 2017
Lies were spread about me and even though management knew them to be untrue they allowed the rumors and lies to continue. I was kept sitting without work to do for months and then suddenly let go without notice. Worst experience of my career so far.

Good job to get experience but....
Help Desk Tier 1, Level 1, Computer Operator II (Current Employee) –  Montgomery, ALJuly 9, 2017
Inserso is a good job to get experience but there is no upward advancement. The atmosphere is a little unstructured. The training is not consistent. While in training, you bounce around from one tech to another. There is no standard operating procedure. With that being said, everybody creates their Remedy tickets differently.

The good points about working there is that you learn a lot of troubleshooting techniques that can help you in your normal life or in the IT field.

All in all, once you get over the unstructured training, the job is really enjoyable.
Pros
Helpful troubleshooting tips, experience building
Cons
There is no designated trainer.

growing government contractor with teams that run on automatic
Level II Help Desk Specialist (Current Employee) –  San Antonio, TXMarch 2, 2017
Apparently there were several contractors that previously held this team, but after some shake-ups, Inserso put together a very smooth working process. For the most part all cogs work as they should.

unfortunately, many can become comfortable and complacent in this and growth can be stagnated.

They compensate more than most companies for similar roles.
Pros
Great pay for introductory professionals
Cons
limited growth opportunities after acclimation to job role
