Family owned, and good to work for overall. The company has deep roots in the community, and customer service is priority number one. Employees are treated fairly, and the door to management is always open.

Great Place To Work!!!

Received adequate training as a Selector so I could reach my personal and company goals. Fun team to work with. Definitely hard work, and can be long hours, but rewarding

Pros

Team Atmosphere

Cons

Potentially Long Hours

All in all its not a terrible place to work.

I've been here for over a year and this place has a lot of flaws, but everywhere does. My biggest problem with this company is tolerating the bad workers and not rewarding the good workers. If you do twice as much as the next person you might get noticed, but it won't get you anything other than that. Yearly raises are a quarter at most. No extra pay for extra responsibilities you take on. It'll be good money if you're willing to work, but don't expect anything extra for going above and beyond.

Pros

You sometimes get fed, lots of overtime when schools are in, and good insurance.

Cons

Profit sharing(much worse than a 401k with this specific company), heavy lifting(your body will be sore), and long days without a choice.

Busy work

It’s a shame to work here. Everyone that does computer work looks down their nose at the others. Management is horrendous at best. Watch your back at all times

Pros

None

Cons

Everything. I’m serious. Stay away

Horrible place to work

Horrible place to work. They say the care about you like your family but that’s not true at all. If you have a family issue they are okay with you missing but if they say “work when you can it’s fine”, they don’t mean it at all. They hold it over your head the entire time you work for them. Definitely don’t get injured here.

Warehouse Functions

Food is a big business. Always busy. It has a family culture. The most enjoyable part of the job was bringing in my new ideas, setting records, and doing all of it safely.

Pros

work schedule

Cons

lack of in house promotions

besides 3rd shift it was a good job.

besides working 3rd shift i loved the job. It was fast paced and the nights went by fast. I liked it because you had to pay attention to what you were doing and everyone there are good workers.

IWC Cash and Carry

Cash and Carry is a grocery store open to the public, I got experience with customer service and a cash register. There at Cash and Carry we'd work together as a team to get stuff done.

Pros

Discount on what we sold

Cons

Short breaks, slow work days

Do not take care of workers.

When a bully is a coworker and you have took that person to HR and Supervisor and nothing is done, they expect them to work side by side without conflict. The bully should have been disciplined.

Growth, growth, growth.

Interacted with purchasing department and transportation department to execute excellent service levels with new and existing customers to grow Chattanooga market. Prequalified potential customers, initiated cold call, and presented products and services with pricing based on their volume and margin potential for cases purchased and potential drop size. Maintained service and built relationships with clients in order to penetrate the account.

Pros

ability to manage my own time and determine customer base

Cons

limited product mix for this market

In contrast to other entry level jobs in Cookeville, IWC rates high.

As an employee of IWC, I enjoy the competitive atmosphere and the casual approach from management. The incentive based pay scale makes it easy to motivate yourself on a daily basis. Fundementally, IWC has flaws though. The disconnect from upper-management to the night shift is apparent and it makes it hard to envision a long term stay at the company if you're looking to move up.

Pros

competitive incentive pay scale

Cons

long shifts, continued heavy lifting
