Awful management, decent job
Nutrition Care Specialist (Former Employee) - American Fork, UT - December 7, 2023
I liked the job and the work. Very manageable and I felt that they valued my skills and knowledge and education. However the management is terrible. The manager is not a team player. There’s tons of drama and gossip in the workplace. No one wanted to be there. I had a friend interview a year later and she said the entire interview was a red flag. Felt like they were selling her the job.

PRN is great
Occupational Therapist (Current Employee) - Salt Lake City, UT - December 6, 2023
I love being PRN at Intermountain due to the flexibility of scheduling. There are always shifts as needed and it's a good place to work. Highly recommended for OTs

Good work life balance
Social Needs Care Coordinator (Current Employee) - Remote - December 5, 2023
I have been working at intermountain for almost a year now. So far I have really enjoyed working for them. They have good work life balance. Pay is okay. You won't get opportunities to move up as much as they say but still overall a good company to work for.

Good place to work
NP (Current Employee) - Montana - December 4, 2023
I love my job but they pay NPs less than PAs who are in the same exact role. I love my schedule. They promote quality healthcare. Communication could be better.

Employee pay/benefits slashed so they could buy a stadium and Super Bowl adds…
Pilot (Former Employee) - Salt Lake City, UT - November 28, 2023
80% reduction in our annual raise, PTO cut in half, 401k match cut by 2/3, and our garbage benefits went up 13% and they added a $50 spouse fee even though they own the insurance company… Why? Because they wanted to be the main sponsor for the new Raiders Stadium and wanted to spend $10 million on Super Bowl adds. After slashing our pay and benefits we got an email talking about how they had a record year. Intermountain Health dropped the “care” for a reason. They don’t care about their employees at all. They’re a non-profit that puts profits before their employees.
Pros
None.
Cons
Everything.

Good salary, terrible PTO benefits.
NP (Current Employee) - Denver, CO - November 26, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? This company pays well and adjusts to the local market. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Staffing problems, constantly changing rules, number of new patients per day, inefficient management. This company closes the clinic for national holidays and takes from employee’s PTO for it. PTO as a result is less than advertised. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Minimal teamwork. Main concern is clinic’s productivity scores. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Schedules are always maxed out.

Amazing work environment
Nurse Apprentice (Current Employee) - Provo, UT - November 26, 2023
Love this place! The manager is such a lovely person and everyone is willing to help! I don’t want to work bedside nursing but working here has changed my mind.

Top Heavy
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Grand Junction, CO - November 22, 2023
The merger of SCL and IH has brought some challenges as one would expect. The credo of IH is to standardize clinical workings across the organization. This makes sense for some things but it is very frustrating when it stands in the way of being able to do your day to day job. Very, very top heavy organization. It is communicated very clearly to people that they are replaceable, however people who are underperforming do not have any accountability. Pay and benefits are ok.

Excellent Imaging Department
CT Technologist (Former Employee) - Burley, ID - November 20, 2023
I worked here for 12 years in Imaging and left to pursue becoming a PA. This hospital is staffed with the best people. The pay and benefits were pretty darn good.

Don’t recommend
CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) - Denver, CO - November 20, 2023
Won’t train inexperienced CNA I felt thrown to the wolves and management does not treat CNA like they do not have a purpose at all. Be ware of toxic environment

Overworked staff. Multiple standards. Security can be an issue, but they do a good job on parking enforcement.
Tech (Current Employee) - Heart and lung - November 16, 2023
There is a high stress environment that creates some dangerous scenarios. I have pointed some things out that is UNSAFE and I get zero help on resolving these problems. don't know who to turn to for help in dealing with stuff that SHOULD be easy.
Cons
Short or no breaks 12 hour shifts with HIGH demands poor employee relations bad security

Love my coworkers
Registered Nurse (RN) (Current Employee) - Riverton, UT - November 15, 2023
Mgmt just looks out for their self. Pay is on the lower end and benefits are now super ridiculously expensive. RN’s don’t have enough incentives and not appreciated.
Pros
Great co-workers
Cons
Doctors get free lunch, exercise equipment, and the RN rarely have time for lunch and get a discount for vasa, Like to see the hospital run with just doctor’s!!

Overworked and Underpaid
Sterile Processing Technician (Current Employee) - Colorado - November 15, 2023
The pay rate is low at Intermountain and you may be tempted by large sign-on bonuses. Don't be deceived, they use this to trap you into predatory contracts in order to reduce turnover. Leadership is absent, at best, and focused on productivity and profit above all. Maintain your ethical and personal boundaries because both will be pushed. Work/life balance is a constant struggle. Benefits are ok. PTO is easy to accrue, which is essential as burn-out is a real risk with the level of work you will be subjected to. If you end up here my best advice is to keep your head down, focus on the work and not the people or politics, and look for better opportunities as soon as you are able to do so.

Amazing coworkers everywhere
Phlebotomist (Current Employee) - sunset clinic - November 14, 2023
My coworkers are really what makes coming to work amazing, just an overall great team. The work is very fast past and can be mentally draining, patients are definitely more thought of rather than the worker.

Typical large company
Physician (Current Employee) - Denver, CO - November 12, 2023
Culture seems about the same as other large healthcare entities. Lots of meetings and "education" as one would expect. To make a decent wage, one has to take on more responsibilities and leadership which some might enjoy. Also quality incentives which are obtainable if one works at it. Staff turnover is a problem and staff is often lacking in experience which may be the way of the world now. Not a horrible place to work which is a plus these days.

Minimal teamwork huge burnout
Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) - Lafayette, CO - November 6, 2023
Unfortunately I gave it two years to get better and this place just gets worse. CNAs don’t pick up shifts here due to lack of help from nurses and lack of support given from management nobody picks up than your running the floor alone; float pool? Forget it you get the hardest assignments definitely have to be favored to make it there

Great place for new grad RNs
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Provo, UT - November 6, 2023
Working here as a new grad in the telemetry unit where I started been a great experience. So much support and many resources as a new grad. The culture is unbelievably amazing and made work worth going to every day. Nurse to patient ratio can be a bit much, going up to 5 patients per nurse. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed working there and the team I got be apart of.

Great place
RN Staff Nurse (Current Employee) - Murray, UT - November 6, 2023
Good people. Decent pay. Lots of support from staff and management. Stress levels can be high because of acuity but it is a great place to learn and grow your knowledge.

A progressive and modern employer
Mobile Phlebotomist (Current Employee) - Murray, UT - November 3, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Good benefits, a financially strong company, a solid reputation What is the most stressful part about working at the company? They complicate everything, they don’t know how to keep things simple. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Generally positive, but goes overboard on the whole “inclusivity” thing What is a typical day like for you at the company? Routine, repetitive work which is the norm.
