IMG is very average. No one knows what it is you do so you get stuck and under appreciated. They hire out consultants rather than promote or train. HR policies are out dated. PTO is not competitive. Pay is middle of the road. It is very average and kind of boring but its a job.

There is a lot of politics at IMG just like there is at a lot of other big companies. If you are in the in crowd then job security is secured, but if you are not then job security is not guaranteed.

A typical day of work would be pretty much the same day as from before.

I did learn new things while I was there. The company does like to cross train people.

Work Culture- Variety of people. Holiday parties and a company picnic.

Hardest- No hard parts

Enjoyable part of the job- learning new things to be able to grow in the company.

This job was a killer. The management and people were all great to be honest. But the actual job of being on the phone with people who were having issues with their travel insurance? Super anxiety inducing and stressful. If you could handle VERY high stress, VERY fast paced work environment, then this would be a job for you.

The hardest part of the job was the after hours on call work. In addition to the after hours responsibilities, the follow up for each of those cases had to be managed in additional to routine productivity expectations for ongoing week day responsibilities.

Glass Ceiling's with Tyrannical and Insecure Management

There are slave plantations and then there is the IMG Claims Department. Worst leadership experience in life. VP of claims always claimed she "knew black people", primarily because she dated one. When he ticked her off, the sista's in the department had to watch out... She would use fear and threat of termination as a method of silencing the employees. No chance for advancement UNLESS you have blond hair and blue eyes. Typical day was come in and put your head down. Don't spend too much time getting coffee or going to the bathroom. Very oppressive environment and not for those who are educated and like to think.

A typical day would start out retrieving claims for the week. This could sometimes be 300-500 depending on backlog. My day would be spent processing claims, reading medical records and requesting additional information from providers. This was a strict department to work in. We had deadlines to meet and the managers made sure everyone was staying on task. The hardest part of the job was meeting the strict deadlines. The most enjoyable part of the day was achieving my weekly goals.

The overall company itself is a very nice place of employment. Although the International Claims & Customer Service Departments are managed with a negative, tyranny, intimidating, very strict & confined work environment. Upon initial hire and well liked by the management team, they are very encouraging and helpful in your training and over all success. including taking into account the huge learning curve of the international based administration and computer systems and programs. Unfortunately, once the employees voice any opinion of their own that the management staff and vice president of the departments does not agree with personally and/or professionally, that employee is outcast, not helped as much as other employees and pretty much left to become unsuccessful and/or set up to be terminated for reasons that they (the claims & customer service management team) would disquise under other reasons.
