Work/life balance more like all work no life
Machine Operator (Current Employee) –  Omaha, NESeptember 18, 2018
International paper Omaha is a decent place to work with good benefits and decent pay. If you like 12 hour shifts and working 6 days a week this is the job for you. Also if you have a good work ethic leave it at the door because you will not be awarded for it, it will just leave you frustrated and tired while your busting your back while the other guys do nothing. Management is horrible at this plant alot of the floor supervisors are ignorant and just as lazy as half there production team They are constantly changing upper management.
Pros
Pay and health Care
Cons
Management, No life, did I say Management

I believe the job is what you make it... There are good days and bad days. In my particular field it is requisite for us to work long hours with little time off but I accept that as part of the job and certainly there is always room for improvement in all aspect of business operations...
Pros
organization, communication
Cons
extreme temperatures, very few days off.

Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Visalia, CASeptember 12, 2018
Internaional paper was a fast paced production job.
We worked wierd schedules with a lot of mandatory 12 hour shifts
Not a lot of compassion for family emergencies or schedule flexibility.
They do pay well and have really good insurance and benefits.

Production Worker/Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Putnam, CTSeptember 10, 2018
Overwhelming 12 hour shifts. When the machine's decided to work right they wanted more from us. Could of been a nice job if the machine's worked right and the schedule were more reasonable.

The machines broke down a lot and we had absolutely nothing to do but try to find someone who could fix it. When the machines worked right there was way to much work for two people to do.

Exhausting.....

Pay

Engaged employees contribute to the success of the plant.
Forklift Driver (Former Employee) –  Exeter, CASeptember 7, 2018
Fast paced with employee engagement. ALL workers have "Line Stop Authority". If they see that something is not right, they can stop production until the problem is addressed or fixed. Employees are encouraged to address safety violations peer to peer before management becomes aware of the problem.
Company provides lunch when machine center or plant production records are broken.
Pros
Recognition for a job well done.
Cons
Fast paced for drivers.

People that work hard do not get rewarded
Operator (Current Employee) –  Mount Carmel, PASeptember 7, 2018
Employees that work hard are asked to constantly work more and longer hours. Multiple employees with FMLA that take advantage of the system so the people who don't get screwed over.

Company has a bunch of paper pushers. Management has no regard for employees. You do not receive recognition for your good deeds. The company will not acknowledge you going above and beyond.

Negative and stressful place to work
Production Assistant (Former Employee) –  Eaton, OHAugust 31, 2018
Worked too many hours to plan anything else. Insufficient training by co-workers with no patience and nasty negative attitudes. Co-workers who talk about others behind their back and very unfriendly. If they have been there for a long period of time, they act as though they run the place.Everyday had a negative and stressful impact on me. primarily co-workers with their nasty, unfriendly attitude. Not worth the pay.
Pros
Pay
Cons
The BS you went through to get it, NO Thanks!!
