The job is truly what you make of it. The company will work you into the ground, pushing you for sales all the time. If you hit your goals (very difficult to do) you are modestly compensated. While they are short on guys they are paying well, but have been very open about how that will change. High stress, low employment, tons of pressure, long hours, but will pay very well if you can figure it all out. Do not make financial decisions based upon commission, because it is a very low percentage. Zero room for upward movement, and have in fact been reducing manager positions. There is no way to move up to be very clear. Make your money, then find something more rewarding.

Great money to ba made if you're willing to work yourself into insanity. There's one good manager in the entire company the rest are mindless drones of the vice president. No advancement potential like at all.

As Field Technicians, we wear many hats. We install and service many different products and services. We are a nationwide provider of top-ranking Smart Home Automation products. We are partnered with some of the biggest names in the technology business.I have learned so many new skills while working at Intertech. I can install and troubleshoot hundreds of products and have fun doing fit. I have sharpened my customer service skills as well.Management is always there to help me in any way I need. This is a big deal to me!I enjoy meeting new customers and learning about people just as much as I love learning about the technology we sell and service. The company often gives a lot of perks (extras) including double commission on sales and team contests to boost sales.

Your role as a technician is just a front for the real operation which is just sleazy door to door sales. If you enjoy taking advantage of the elderly and undereducated then this is the job for you. If you don't hit numbers your pay drops significantly from the already pitiful wage. You will never have enough work to pay your ills unless you are working constantly which never happens because there isn't that much work. Complete sleaze.
Technician in Erie, PA

You start at 8am and get home when they quit feeling greedy, usually 9-10pm. They dont care about the safety of your work vehicle, they will dispatch you out of state for 1-2 weeks every 2-3 months even though you agreed to every 6 months upon hire, they try to SELL you the job because they've become that out of touch with thier employees and now confuse them with customers. Garbage.
