Broken promises
Collector (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXApril 4, 2019
Promises made they have no intention of keeping just to get you to accept their offer. People are put into management positions based on who they know and not what they know (BFF's promoting inexperienced, unskilled, unprofessional candidates). Supervisors clueless about the discipline they are trying to manage. Untrained employees being hired with NO EXPERIENCE coming in making the same amount of money as someone with vast experience. HUGE TURNOVER!!!! VERY CHAOTIC ENVIRONMENT.

I love working for Intrepid, its just an hour drive for me and it not full time and no chance of full time right now because of census. Typically I worked with Medicaid and insurance billing. Filing paperwork and charting in patient portal. Answering the Phone

Terrible place to work
Administrator (Former Employee) –  Montgomery, AL 36116March 19, 2019
This is not a company. Management is poor. Does not properly train staff. Does not treat staff fair. I loved taking care of patients and working in home health just not for this company. Management put staff against each other for their own personal gain. Not properly staffed. Ended up working every weekend.

the people in upper level leadership have no idea what is going on on the ground level which leads to mass disruption in normal workflow. Too focused on money and not on patients.

Don’t believe them
Anonymous (Former Employee) –  AnonymousMarch 14, 2019
Their turnover is very high because they make all kinds of promises to get you in the door, and do not follow through on a single one of them. If you are bold enough to ask, you’re put on the “list.”

The are only about money. Each dying patient is viewed by management as merely a dollar sign, absent of any of the promises made to the patient during the service sign on process.

Their best talent is using the good clinicians, who are trying to make a difference at the bedside as a scapegoat in order to minimize accountability of upper management. After those clinicians have sacrificed and worked many times for free; knowing they are the only person who is looking out for the best interest of their patients, management will throw them out like a piece of trash. Much like the patients that become too difficult or expensive.

Stressful place of employment
Clinical Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Abingdon, VAMarch 11, 2019
Interacting with patients was the most enjoyable part of the job. Typical workday was phone calls, scheduling, rescheduling visits, monitoring labs, report to physicians, interacting with all disciplines, making visits, reviewing all discipline notes, oasis, ICD-9 coding. Management usually not on site.
Pros
Pay/benefits
Cons
Stressful, unfair, terrible workload

Poor Management
Support Specialist (Former Employee) –  Murfreesboro, TNMarch 11, 2019
I would not recommend this position for a host of reasons. Be prepared to travel for training to two different locations with no compensation for your time or gas, 45 and 52 miles each way. Training was good if you take good notes. Very loaded on duties, basically you own the chart from start to finish with varying tasks throughout the certification period with an average of 70-80 patients at any given time. Management is very aggressive in style and do not get on the bad side, you will never return to the good side. On a good note, very patient in the learning curve as there are so many things to learn which have to be done in a certain order and followed up on. There is no overtime and you will be drilled many times, your hours are 8-noon and 1-5 and if you stay in for lunch you are asked to answer the phones if no one picks up. You are basically forced to leave for your hour lunch. If you do take the position, I left behind great notes all typed up and ready to go. Good Luck!

Account Executive/Outside Sales (Former Employee) –  Indianapolis, INMarch 4, 2019
This job was all about the numbers, not the employee. Not a place to work if you want a career instead of just a job. Pretty thankless environment. Not worth the stress.

PTA (Former Employee) –  MissouriFebruary 24, 2019
It was a different experience but overall a pretty good one. I will take away some good experience and knowledge of how the HH world works. Its a shame that the current employees are paying for the poor choices of previous employees from years ago.
Pros
Nice coworkers

Mileage rate is not the best.

Revenue Cycle (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXDecember 29, 2018
I should hv read the reviews. No raises and very unorganized company. Everything you read is true not a good company. The only pro is the experience I gained but that’s it. I hope to be out of this trash in 2019. Keep going don’t stop here. Turnover rate is high. I seem so many people come n go in the year I’ve been here.

Run ... do not walk away from this hospice
RNCM (Former Employee) –  North Charleston, SCDecember 10, 2018
There are a lot of hours worked at Intrepid that you will not be paid for. The management will not recognise these hours as hours worked. There is little to no clinical expertise in the office. You will have to figure things out on your own. You will be placed in unethical situations and be expected to put the company first. RNs in the office are great, but everyone is stressed all of the time. Caring for the patients is rewarding, but if the office cancer continues the whole clinical staff will turnover.
Pros
patient care
Cons
poorly run company

They lied from the beginning. The pay was horrible they tax you on your mileage which is rediculous. Not a good place to work at all. They do not give you enough hours.

Worked in the office as a secretary some days and home care some days. Learned office management skills. Supervisor was was assume. Everyone was welcome. Honestly, I don't recall of having any difficulty with the job. The most enjoyable part of the job I was given the responsibility of reviewing applications for hire.
