Overall a great company with tons of growth while I was there.
Field Service Engineer (Former Employee) – Dallas-Fort Worth, TX – July 19, 2018
Overall a great company however the dollar superseded the patient on their “pyramid” which was counter intuitive to the culture they initially bred. Limiting hours able to maintain surgical robotics to 8-5 is counter productive to helping the hospitals maintain maximum uptime and patient driven results. I feel bad for all the patients who could not have the surgery and support they deserved based on limiting our hours of operation after YEARS of bending over backwards to serve the customer. At the rate (cost) of customer service contracts, all hospitals and patients should receive the utmost in medical device coverage and service.
Assembly Technician (Former Employee) – Sunnyvale, CA – July 9, 2018
friendly crew, helpful leaders cross training availability is good some paid lunch on OT days, employee pot luck from time to time but only short term & they preach for striving for good quality but pushing very intensely on quantity & blame you for failure on workmanship
The company speak for itself but most employees making it worst.
Test Technician I (Former Employee) – Instrument – July 2, 2018
The company and work is fair enough, they have concern about your health so they do the job rotation every 2 hrs. may varies on your job position otherwise it’ll be a repetitive work for you. Break time isn’t really enough if you’ll be working in the clean room. Clean environment with shower rooms for cyclist employee, they also lend you a bike but you need to register. Own a bike? No problem they have a safety place inside the building where you can hang or park your bicycle. They have discounts for the gym if you are health and body conscious. Support group (Engineers) are reliable and very helpful, they addressed and analyzed work related issues. and they do hands on trouble shooting. Test Technicians are mostly Mexican, Filipino, Vietnamese, Chinese and American of course support groups. They gather employees on a regular basis for the company updates with few raffle prizes to give away for product handling. They will encourage you to get certified on different areas and they have certified trainers. Here’s the cons; - If you work under the agency, it’ll take more than one year to get your regularization or you need to work really hard on it or do inside application. - Optional benefits under agency. - not enough pay to live in the Bay Area. - Be aware of working with those very unsupportive and judgemental, supervisors, technician II, and colleagues, (they will pull you down).
I was under the agency and worked for a year and did not intended to leave the company. I wasn’t able to work for a year for a valid reason then I re applied but the agency didn’tmore... allowed me to work with them anymore. I didn’t asked them for any help thought I can come back soon but to no luck, I loss my regularización and employment in the end I’ve got nothing as a temporary employee even for a year.less
Interesting design. State of the art robot but notine of a kind.
Preventive Maintenance and Calibration Tech (Former Employee) – Sunnyvale, CA – June 28, 2018
The company started as a very family oriented work place. But as it grew as a corporation the moral and sense of pride of the employees diminished . Due to the lack of leadership skills of the new salaried member of management . The point system attendance grading became a tool to terminate good employees who do not agree with the low self esteem supervisor. There's a lot of this going on.. not very organized and alot of drama .not a bad place to start For o young in experience person just don't let the drama get to you.
Manufacturing Technician III (Former Employee) – Sunnyvale CA – June 7, 2018

QA Engineer (Former Employee) – Sunnyvale, CA – June 6, 2018
The surgical robots are cool, but the engineers look down on everyone not in their club. Advancement is non-existent even though you have the skills. Engineers make mistakes in their designs all the time.
Cutting edge technology that makes significant positive impact on patients lives and its users
Sr. CSR (Former Employee) – Sunnyvale, CA – April 16, 2018
Fast paced high tech med device robotics company. They have become more focused on the #'s and not the employees or the employees development. Especially tenured employees that have built territories from little utilization to significant market share. When there is little room left for growth in a territory they will aim to replace highly paid Sr. reps with recent college graduates to babysit cases and cut their overhead by 2/3 rds to make #'s for Wall Street.
Cutting edge technology, dynamic positions, high growth and stock options, Espp

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. is the global technology leader in minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery. For more than 15 years, Intuitive Surgical has focused on advancing surgical technology while consistently maintaining a “patients first” philosophy. The da Vinci Surgical System has brought minimally invasive surgery to more than four million patients worldwide.
Exciting company with lots of potential for growth.
Engineering Intern (Former Employee) – Sunnyvale, CA – November 20, 2017
There is so much to learn from the other employees at Intuitive Surgical and so many projects happening at once. It is easy to approach someone from another group to ask for advice on your own project. There are many intelligent and talented people who work here.
Technician One (Former Employee) – Sunnyvale, CA – November 12, 2017
a typical day at work in which we have to reach our goal is competitive and challenging, I really learned a lot for the 3 months I was working with them. The hardest part of working here is getting off really late and when there is a rework in a process it makes our work slow because you have to do it over again. But the most enjoyable part of the job is when the team reached the goal and everyone is cooperating and working hard to reach the goal. Team work is the key and it is really good working with cooperative people.
