Not worth it.
Cashier (Former Employee) –  Oak Grove, MOApril 16, 2019
It’s not worth working here. The management was awful and they favorited A LOT. Does not matter how long you’ve been working there, if they like someone better than you, it doesn’t matter if they’ve been there for a week, they’re gonna advance before you do. Guarantee you can find a better job than this. They’ve fired people for absolutely no reason and there is a whole lot of drama and gossip. It’s like being in high school.

Not Bad
Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) –  Walcott, IAOctober 25, 2018
Not bad, but not good. Didn't have much to do. The people working there were nice, but managers didn't talk to you or let you know what was going on. Pretty boring.

Orientation Manager and Exhibits Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Walcott, IAAugust 29, 2018
Worked there for many years, enjoyed the first few years, everyone was amazing and worked together, it was the family environment they claimed. Then things turned when upper management changed and discrimination was very much a part of the everyday life.
Pros
Employee discounts
Cons
Not paid well, discrimination, lack of a family atmosphere they talk about.

Warehouse (Current Employee) –  IowaApril 8, 2017
Can't speak any higher of this company. Work for them, if you ever get the opportunity. You won't regret it. Management is all good, willing to teach you what you need to know for the job you have. Someone is always there to help if needed, and no two days are the same.

Scale Technician (Former Employee) –  Walcott, IAFebruary 27, 2017
I was provided a company truck and company financial support in all tasks. Working out of town averaging two weeks each month was work interesting and satisfying. Weeks at the shop were tasks of great variety from customer support to prep work for commonly anticipated tasks.
Pros
Using the best equipment and tools.
Cons
Unexpected out of town repairs.

Horrible Management
Food/Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Walcott, IAOctober 18, 2016
Management can be as sexist as some of the drivers. You have to have the right looks to have the preferred shifts
No raises, they encourage you to learn more and be proactive to learn more and cross train for promotions but then yell at you for doing so.
Workinfnforservixe the county makes you sign a paper that you won't work with certain symptoms but then you are forced to work or written up if you don't.
Over worked/under appreciated
Pros
Discounts even on gas
Cons
Little/no breaks in 8 hr shift, bad management, don't care about employees, no chance for advancement. Not 1 raise in over 5 years employment

great work place
Housekeeping (Former Employee) –  Walcott, IAAugust 29, 2015
learned how to work in a very fast paste environment. The management was great to work with, co workers were awesome for the most part. the hardest part about this job was their was too much talking and not enough team work. the most enjoyable part about this job would be upstairs housekeeping you get to have great communication with the truckers when they come in for a shower and you have better team work upstairs than you do downstairs.
Pros
discount especially around holidays is really good
Cons
insurance is not to great. it can be a lot of work for one person.

Lube Technician (Former Employee) –  Walcott, IAJuly 16, 2015
Is a good place to get feet wet if diesel work is your plans,, Management is very lacking on cohesion and never knows what is going on. Lube techs are treated as janitors and made to work with no breaks and must always be working for 8 hours straight.
Pros
Oaid trainning for ASE
Cons
Lube tech position is mis treated

Would be a good place to work if not for low pay.
Housekeeping (Former Employee) –  Walcott, IAFebruary 5, 2015
The only problem I had with being a housekeeper at Iowa 80 Truck stop was the pay rate. As a 3rd shift housekeeper, it was my responsibility to clean showers, bathrooms, and floors. Unfortunately, it only paid $8 an hour, which in not possible to live on and wasn't worth cleaning human waste for.
Pros
Relaxed workplace.
Cons
Cleaning human excrement, pay.
