No Room for Growth
Technical Writer/ Editor (Quality Control) (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - May 23, 2019
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe employees are great and the work/life balance is amazing. There is no room for progression within the company for women. Nepotism will get people far in the company. If you are not friend or a family member you will not succeed here.
Pros
Excellent work/life balance, great schedule, flexible time
Cons
No room for growth, no promotions, no bonuses, no recognition, lack of communication

Convenience, responsibility , loyalty, and friendly
Esthetician (Former Employee) - San Francisco, CA - July 25, 2018
I love work there, but they closed. I have to leave no choice. I had been working at Ispa for 7 years. The first 2 years I worked at nail station. Then I went to school of esthetician. It takes a year to get esthetician license. I got train esthetician position about 3 months and I got full time esthetician job there.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Short hours 5 hours shift

Poor Culture, Poor Treatment
Associate Technical Writer (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - June 7, 2018
Undercompensated; Micro-managed; Government Contractors with all the pitfalls; Feeder company to Lockheed-Martin, but LMG looks down on ISPA employees on site. Environment is confusing with managers assuming everyone understands how government contractors work. No scale for performance. Goals are very ambiguous. Great deal of "don't get caught and it's ok" behavior. Very poor work life balance.

I did a lot of military sensitive work for them
Building Engineer (Former Employee) - Baltimore, MD - November 28, 2017
Look at the work sheet and see what naval ordinance needed.
How to work with the military and read military blue prints.
I did not officially manage any departments at this time unless someone was on vacation.
Unfortunately to the workplace you were just a number.
The hardest part of the job was being unappreciated.
The best part was working on a lot of military jobs that directly benefited our service men and women.
Pros
I enjoyed doing a lot of military work
Cons
Very low pay and no employee appreciation

Pros

Cons
pay was cheap

Good starter job
Associate Technical Writer/QMT - Canada French (Current Employee) - Marietta, GA - May 21, 2016
The division of ISPA, Inc. for which I work is essentially the Technical Publications department for Lockheed Martin's C130J aircraft. The work day and schedule echoes that of the Marietta Lockheed QMT (Quality Management Team), working essentially 9 hours a day plus a 45 minute mandatory unpaid lunch break four days a week, and 8 hours plus the same lunch break on Fridays. The following week, the Friday is off, but overtime is expected on weekdays, days off and weekends. Overtime is paid the same as regular hourly salary. Workers are grouped in loose teams and the atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful. Work is conducted independently in cubicles, and communication is mostly via inter-office e-mail and instant messages. It is expected that employees report to Lockheed headquarters when assigned on a regular or irregular basis, depending on which team you work. There are occasional meetings and few training sessions. There are a wide variety of people working at ISPA, diverse in age, origin, background. The work requires learning a good deal of information quickly and attention to detail, as well as handling deadlines. There is a lot of repetition in the work itself. People are for the most part quite friendly. Management is mostly hands-off, but occasionally random changes occur. HR is very friendly; a really good group of people. I would say that ISPA is a good, small corporation. Because of the small size of the company, benefits are a bit limited (such as health insurance plan), but they try their best. There is a fairly high turnover rate compared to other workplaces in -
Pros
Good people, opportunities to work independently, to learn new skills
Cons
short breaks, long hours, long commute, no bonuses, insufficient communication with managers / teams

Productive and experiencing the financial side of production
Logistics Management Specialist (Current Employee) - Robins AFB GA - July 13, 2015
A typical day at work consists of reviewing contract info , total number of buys/repairs. I communicate with other branches of service when buys and repairs are upcoming to let them know the cost and if the cost has changed due to increase or decrease in exchange rates. I work alongside the Program manager and attend meetings with him/her. I create spreadsheets on IPT meetings that are standing meetings each month. I create temporary work orders for Depot on upcoming activation of GPS Antenna production. Co-workers are enjoyable and very helpful. Management is in order in this environment. My job is a busy job and requires skill in which I developed back in my 40 plus years at Depot in production and learning this side of production is a very rewarding experience. Back in production the money had already been allocated and the production assets flowed in and out of the shop. This job requires me to see the money being spent for this to happen at Depot.
Pros
Experience in contracting.
Cons
Not knowing if the job contract will be funded

Too much work for not enough pay
Associate Technical Writer (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - September 28, 2013
The culture of this business is lovely, but the hours are grueling and the pay is substandard. Benefits are great for a single person with no family or obligations.
