Toxic work environment. People trying to force me to stay because I am good at my job, even though I haven't seen a decent raise.
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Ivy Tech Community College? What are the steps along the way?
Depends on position and position location. Anderson takes forever to even get interviews going due to multiple jobs/employee.
Depends on position and position location. Within the Anderson “Express” Enrollment and Student “Success” positions, it is expected that you work until the work is complete, which could be an 8am to campus closes. Do not expect overtime pay!
Interview for a Dean position. The campus president decided to not even show up and the rest of the committee were visibly surprised by this. As someone who has worked in higher ed for a long time it came off as extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. They interview a lot of people they have no intention of hiring.
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Ivy Tech Community College a better place to work?
I'd get more input from staff and faculty before making huge changes
What would you suggest Ivy Tech Community College management do to prevent others from leaving?
Allow people to move into roles that interest them instead of keeping them stuck in the same position because they do one job well.
How did you feel about telling people you worked at Ivy Tech Community College?
Proud and I would recommend it to anyone who want to go to college and can't afford it. Full or part time employees are allowed to take up to 2 classes a semester.
What are the requirements to tutor at ivy tech? (As a student) I'm wanting to be an English tutor or help with like research papers.
They have departments in place to hire tutors.
