This company is an great place to work. The pay was not. The type of work was very demanding and it take a toll on your physical body. I wouldn't go back and work for this company.

Great pay great managers

14 to 15 hours a day I would run out my 70 hour clock at least 2 times per month bad management with 4 hours on my clock I would have to go 70 miles in rush hour traffic and back and get unloaded another 70 miles and run out of time on my 15 hr clock and no one cared and the next day they would expect you to be at the job site before 7 am you would have have 8 hr off some days

Honest recruiters

Truck Driver Class A (Former Employee) - Chattanooga, TN - June 4, 2023

I drove the truck semi-local for JB Hunt. The recruiter did not lie about anything. I actually made more money than they said I would. I work 4 days 1 week 6 days to next they are very well organized and fair.

Not a bad place to work. The managers I had on the accounts I worked had good communication and the majority of the time came through when you needed them. The pay was decent as well as the equipment.

Try to avoid this place

Transportation Manager II (Current Employee) - Lowell, AR - June 2, 2023

It’s not the same. It’s no longer trucking, it’s turned more into a Logistics company hiring outside/owner operator drivers. Only company drivers that is left are Dedicated and Intermodal, no OTR. They have grown to be more focused on the bottom line than their employees. Shifting employees over in to positions that they didn’t sign up for nor ever wanted.Can go on but maybe whoever reads this, will take notice. If you do hire on, get some experience & then move elsewhere, you don’t want to make JB Hunt a permanent home. Take it from someone with 30+ years. I’m out!

I have been with jb hunt long but so far its the best company I've worked for. I'm out of joilet il.and everyone the on the the team is nice they seem to care about you and know your name. Very laid back. Work is constant. Great pay. And you get off on your days off. They make sure of it.

Management don't care about you. Your on your own

Jbhunt officials can fire you without no reason and they do not give most of there employees second chance, I think is a good company but bad management especially in Sumner terminal Seattle Washington, those staff there are mean. They don't care for you.

Not great but not terrible. There was no per diem so taxes were crazy but home time was consistent (every weekend). The miles weren't consistent though and it seemed like dispatch doesn't really care about you.

Pay could be better

It’s ok if you prioritize home time. Freight gets slow a lot and your paycheck will reflect it. Dispatchers are easy to contact and work with. They do have cameras are they are watching them. It is a good company overall the pay just could be better.

What is the best part of working at the company?The company is a great place great benefits and great equipment then may your problem with JB Hunt Intermodal is the people in the office in dispatcher besides that is a great company five starWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?This is my opinion only for working with JB Hunt is the dispatcher and the people from The OfficeWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Like I said company is a great it's a not touch freight is dropping Hooks and once in awhile you do life loads that's not an issue the stops are not an issue the equipment is not an issue the benefits are not an issue at all and may your problem is the dispatcher and the people's inside the officeWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Dispatcher they don't know how to dispatch you if you work in the South area they want you to go from the south all the way to the North Area to do a pickup went around the block a couple miles we got other five customers for a pickup to get when you could be earning more money cuz they dispatching you the right way would JB Hunt you don't get paid by the hour you get paid by the move and mileage and drops so the mileage is you don't make that much money so if this is parachute the smart way you could make a nice chunk of check in one constant payroll they don't know how to do your payroll so you canceling in the office arguing with them cuz they forgot to pay something or put it down to get paid that's the problem with the office in this fashion

Just do your job. low pay and off on weekends. It is a typical rail job. Most co workers are great. Most managers are good. Truck maintenance could be better.
