Firm mismanaged by uneducated, unprofessional staff
Case Manager (Former Employee) – South Portland, ME – March 29, 2018
The founder is a brilliant man with a law firm that has incredible earning potential. Unfortunately, he leaves the management to a small group of women who lack the skill set, including professionalism, maturity and education, to lead the growing firm. They claim to be family-friendly, however, they pick and choose who courtesies are extended to based on whether or not you perform as the puppets they prefer to hire. There is a complete lack of interest in creating systems to improve overall functionality of processes. The firm experiences a high volume of turnover for a combination of reasons. First, hires of completely inexperienced staff are made and then no real training is provided. Case managers are training new hires after only having done the job themselves for a couple months. Second, the "management" staff is chaotic, unable to provide guidance to the staff and completely disrespectful of the attorneys they work for. Third, communication is almost non-existent and hinders case work. Lastly, the firm's owner will sacrifice talented staff at the request of the management staff for reasons none other than they smart and want to take on more responsibility. Management feels very threatened by anyone who tries to take initiative as they are very nervous having any employee who can see how dysfunctional they are. The office manager is also the mother of one of the lead employees and typically has to hold her hand through the day to help her with her job as she is in over her head.
Finally, this firm is great for anyone who doesn't have experience working in a law firm,more... doesn't aspire to grow professionally and doesn't mind being set up to fail.
There are so many examples, but you will just have to see it to believe it.less
