Stressful eviroment, but if you need money...
Written by Correctional Officer (Former Employee) from Kansas City, MO on May 19, 2018
The day-to-day operations are very routine. The long hours and the nature of the job can be very stressful, depending on which floor you end up working. You are likely to be assigned a floor, so you will consistently work around the same people, making it easier to coordinate efforts to complete tasks. Lieutenants are generally easy to talk to and willing - more... to help you do your job better, though this is not always the case, and some of the Sergeants are similarly unwilling to be helpful. The other officers are probably the best part of the job. - less
ProsCheap lunch, good pay, unlimited overtime
Cons12-16+ hour shifts, manditory overtime, stressful enviorment
