Account Executive in Fairfax, VA
Our office had several great team players.
A typical day at work included, being in the office, preparing proposals for clients. Driving to my appointments in my territory, and meeting new prospective clients. I learned quite a lot about, different cleaning applications, for various types of floors, and chemicals that worked for stubborn problems. The hardest part of the job, was meeting client schedules for work to begin. The reason for the scheduling problems, was due to our inefficient Operations Manager. Most enjoyable part of the job, was meeting with management of many types of companies, and government agencies

Poor Training Day
I just want to say on my first day there I spent 15 minutes going around the mall trying to find the current door to enter for the employees to enter no signage. I was told right by the Sears store, In front of the building, Behind the building, Loading dockets of sears, etc. I get there someone an employee leaves because of a covid scare. I'm told to sweep and mop areas with a broom, not a large broom because they only have one that is used. They only had one wet floor sign at the time for me to use not safe. The employees looking at me walking all over a completely wet floor with one sign in the long ways in the middle of the floor. There turns and corners and floors that slant. I wanted to mop half the floor wait till it drys then mop the other half my trainer told me that not how they do it mop the whole thing at the same time. I was locked out of a door with no key card waiting till someone opens the door. I had enough in one day wasn't going to be the one hurting someone over not enough wet floor signs.

Horrible place to work
OverallMy experience working at Jani-King horrible. They put us on a job site for 2 months and then lost the contract which left 20+ people unemployed and gave no other contacts to offer.
Employees were good, owner was terrible.
The fellow employees were very nice and helpful. Their knowledge was a great resource. The owner/president was terrible. His management style was from the 1960s. He would find an old management or sales book and make out like it was a new discovery.
