Toxic Atmosphere
Director (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJuly 13, 2018
The company continues to promote inept, unsupportive, intimidating egomaniacs that have their own agenda about successful initiatives. Overall, these senior managers lack the ability to be team-oriented, good listeners, understanding leaders and fail to appreciate that each market is different from another. They also fail to appreciate that the real work is done at the local levels, working day-to-day to reach families, individuals and businesses, cultivate those relationships and develop trust. JDRF International fails miserably at appreciating those arduous efforts and recognizing them appropriately. They need save money and eliminate the regional management team - only creates an unnecessary layer of confusion and mixed signals.
Pros
Benefits, vacation time
Cons
See above - overall poor regional and senior management

JDRF a Great place to work
Clinical Trial Manager (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 10, 2018
Terrific work environment with incredible flex work schedule. Challenging work environment and assignments. Dedicated and helpful staff. An extremely knowledgeable staff that only helps you be a better professional.

Lacking in management development and guidance. Direction and objections from management is often confusing and requires a great amount of independent thinking. Somes confusing. Play could be slightly better
Pros
Flexible schedule, benefits and community
Cons
Pay (minor) and Management guidance

I enjoyed working there. The only thing that got me was the fact I had to commute everyday an hour and a half one way on a good day. Sometimes it would be longer.

Toxic, Toxic, Toxic!
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  New York, NYMay 8, 2018
This was a terrible place to work, with wretched hours and a charming Southern gal who is everyone's fake friend but the undercover "office spy." Sick.
Pros
The location wasn't bad.
Cons
All of the above.

Great mission, poisonous atmosphere
Manager (Former Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 10, 2017
JDRF has a great mission, but the atmosphere is toxic. Great individuals working there, but awful management. Workdays can be long, but management generally strives to achieve employee work/life balance. Pay is OK, with annual raises.
Pros
Smart, hardworking employees
Cons
Awful managers, backstabbing and buck-passing is rampant

Clueless management
Associate (Former Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 5, 2016
Great mission. But let's be honest, when will they ever find a cure? Money donated is going to the well paid senior management. Save your hard earned dollars. Donate else where the goal is achievable.
Pros
Nice offices
Cons
Stability

this is an ever changing organization where top leadership is often let go and dedicated employees underappreciated. most of the top management is involved in nepotism.
