Schedule surgery for 8 - 10 hours per day MAXIMUM. Do not allow surgeons to schedule 12 hours of surgery. 12 hours turns into 14 hours. After the scheduled surgeries the staff are have to stay to do the unscheduled surgeries.
Add on another ER Tech position during the day. 12 hour shifts are to long for ER personnel. Burn out, stress, fatigue and missing breaks is a daily occurrence. I believe patient care is damaged.
