Lots of overtime work
Threading Machine Operator (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILJanuary 25, 2016
Pros: There's a lot overtime available. They have bonus incentive for everybody which helps increase your paycheck more. They also have a school tuition program. Its a union job. Managament cares about safety and will listen to your concerns. They dont force you to overproduce in a short time , as long as you are efficient and keep things steady, safely and do your work right. In my belief they would rather want you to take your time, not rush and just do it right.

Cons: There are job positions where you are working 68 hours a week, some people dont like it. Its a hazardous work environment just like many around the world . Last, Its dificult to reach upper management especially if you work third shift.

A cutting edge company with a friendly work environment
Shipping and Receiving (Current Employee) –  Warren, OHApril 9, 2015
I would gather completed orders from various operations throughout the warehouse, organize invoices for 30+ trucks scheduled for the day, then I would proceed out to the yard and document locations for each scheduled shipment and do visual quality checks on products. Once trucks started to arrive, I would communicate by radio with the guard house which trucks to bring in and where to send them. I would then radio the loader drivers with truck and load information and supervise load placement on truck, ensuring it is the correct load and also perform another visual inspection of material. Once satisfied, I would complete paperwork with driver.

My greatest learned skill is multi-tasking. The job can get extremely stressful when a large number of trucks arrive together.

Most management is very hands-on and very receptive to ideas for improving the process.

Most co-workers are very conscientious, helpful, and hard-working. After 21 years, I have developed great working relationships with most.

Being that the job is continually outside, dealing with the elements would be the most challenging part of the job.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the people I work with daily. The feeling of accomplishment when working successfully as a team during some very stressful situations.
