Rude, sarcastic, Incompetant
Warehouse Associate (Current Employee) –  Hudson, OHOctober 28, 2017
Terrible cheap company to work for. Managers and some logistics office staff think they are beyond reproach and a gift to the industry. Many long time employees are hard to deal with as they think they know everything. I would pass on this place.
Pros
Some days off as needed
Cons
Very low pay for the work asked. Rude logistics staff and bad managers

Good general labor Job
Warehouse Stocker (Former Employee) –  Visalia, CAAugust 27, 2017
Joann's had a great environment. The people who worked here were all friendly. The work itself could get boring, and overtime was mandatory but when it got slow the hours were cut. Some of the managers were open to helping and questions and others were awkward.
Pros
full-time work during peak seasons, entry level
Cons
long hours

Time study assignments unrealistic!
General Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) –  Visalia, CA Distribution CenterJuly 25, 2017
This company will run you into the ground all day, every day that you work there & then they will tell you that your production is too low when they stop you from doing your job while you are sweating profusely 30 minutes after your start time!! All assignments are based on time studies which are ridiculous & unrealistic. Only one example would be 300 printer labels which translates into 300 cases/cartons must be pulled within a 30 minute timespan which is absolutely ludicrous! They work you to death while they only pay minimum wage rate to start. You don't have to take my word for it. You only have to start working there to realize for yourself exactly what I am describing! Occasional barbecue burgers, hot dogs, or donuts & coffee served up by management personnel is a nice touch but it doesn't pay the bills! Running is not allowed as it is a safety violation however you better be prepared to move your entire shift at Warp Factor 10! I don't recommend this company to anyone other than youngsters who don't have enough life experience to know that this is no way to be treated by your employer & who also have not been in the workforce long enough to earn better than minimum wage. This company uses people as if they are machines!!!
Pros
Occasional barbecued burgers, hot dogs, donuts & coffee..
Cons
Low pay, Overworked, Unrealistic production performance requirements, They will work you excess mandatory overtime when it is convenient for them, then when it is not convenient for them, they will cut your hours to less than 40 hours per week

Not a great work enviornment
Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) –  Hudson, OHJuly 3, 2017
The job itself was not a problem, simple and easy to learn and perform. Set schedules and opportunity to switch duties based on senority, pay negotiated by a collective bargaining unit. The management, however, are poorly trained in employee relations and conflict management as well as logistical operations management. Overtime is available part of the year, however it is mostly mandatory and lengthy per week with little notice
Pros
Competitive pay, benefits

Never again
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) –  Hudson, OHJanuary 9, 2017
Management pitted co-worker vs co-worker. I learned how to pick orders, unload truck, and load trucks. Hardest part of the job was the extreme negativity, and atmosphere. There was really nothing enjoyable about this job, besides going home.

Productive place of steady, constant work through the day.
General Warehouse Worker - Sign Room (Former Employee) –  Hudson, OHDecember 6, 2013
Typical day consisiting of pulling items from shelves and locations in the warehouse, a morning break, lunch, afternoon break.Learned how to operate shrink wrap machines, and enter information into inventory spreadsheets.

Co-workers were hard working and friendly, the superiors also friendly, and making sure things were going alright, offering advice on how the orders were going.
