O&M Facilities Technician in Ashburn, VA

A typical day at work was fast paced, technically challenging and people oriented. I learned how to support my customers needs while maintaining the physical building apparatuses. I was tasked to working both with my supervisors, customers, my customers' supervisors and at times without any supervision. I received much support from my coworkers as needed and like wise in return which made it pleasurable to accomplish daily tasks demanded of me. I found it challenging as well as frustrating at times to complete requests due to a lack of funds for supplies needed but with support from coworkers' parts stock I was still able to overcome adversity of most requests. I found that the most enjoyable part of my job was when I could close a ticket because the assignment was completed and the customer was completely satisfied.

Johnson Controls was a good place to work for. There was plenty of overtime. The environment was good. The managers tried to present a team atmosphere.

I hated working here. The training if that's what you want to call it was barely helpful to getting on the job once you're out. The trainer's assistant was rude and constantly talking down about our training class both during and once we were all on the floor. The pay is terrible, everyone makes a different amount starting out literally based on what you ask for in the interview. Some people are low balled because they don't know any better, and the 'raise' once you transition to another position isn't really a raise at all. It was maybe 25 cents, if that.Depending on when you interview, you'll get stuck with the terrible graveyard shifts and no way to get off of them until you switch positions.Terrible work environment with people who have been there for years and voluntarily work OT all the time like it's fun.

Probably the most miss managed place I have ever worked in my life. Supervisors were ok, but most couldn't supervise any where else. Upper management is a disaster.
