You really need to put yourself out there to earn those hours. New associates of course aren’t going to get 15+ hours weekly, in fact they’ll start you out on slow nights like Mondays and during the week. But, if they ask you to pick up any shifts, which they most likely will — TAKE THEM. Taking the shifts is your in to more hours; if they see you picking up someone else’s slack, theyll definitely start to just schedule you regularly. Being reliable is the best way to get the hours, pick up any shift you can. Managers are super understanding too, so ask if there’s any shifts that can be picked up or just ask nicely for more hours... but if you get them don’t complain, because that’ll just send you right back to step one.
