Decent place to work for your first job. Management is for the most part pretty laid back, although there is a lot of drama that can happen on the front end. Most jobs are fairly simple and easy, good for getting experience in customer service. Also very understanding and willing to work around whatever school schedule you may have.

The job itself is okay, training is by shadowing not much hands on in process. Didn’t find it to be a pleasant experience to be a new comer to the existing circle of what they call family oriented. Amongst other places of retail employment Food City fits in with very low wages, you are paid weekly which is a plus. For the most part customers are pleasant and probably add a smile more to your day than a co worker will. If you think you are quitting one job going to a better place of employment than what you just came from, you may or may not, I didn’t find that I did. There isn’t much to be said for job satisfaction.

Personally I feel very unvalued and not appreciated. I often get penalty for things that couldn't be my fault if I wanted them to be. Policy on call outs and lates are very restrictive and just plain unreasonable
