Kaiser Permanente selected this as a representative reviewWork-life balance Work life balance isn’t too bad Pay & benefits Excellent pay and excellent benefits Job security and advancement Job security is great and my manager supported me going to school. But I’ve heard in other departments that it’s difficult to find Overall You work hard, yes. Is it worth it? 100% I loved working here!!! I had to leave due to school but I highly recommend kaiser to anyone! I hope to be hired again once I graduate with my RN. Excellent pay(35/hr for LVN which is unheard of) Excellent benefits( did I mention they’re FREE) I love kaiser. People talk badly about the work environment here but I have never had an issue

Never recommend
Administrative Accountant (Former Employee) - San Diego, CA - June 9, 2023
I would never recommend working at Kaiser Permanente. Overworked and just an unethical company with high employee turn over. No one ever lasted and seniority always had the upper hand. Leaving this company was a breath of fresh air.

frustrating
Nurse (Current Employee) - Oakland, CA - June 9, 2023
Leadership is not transparent, makes decisions without clinician input. used to be more inclusive of clinician opinions. I feel pay and benefits are good.

Full of clicks and favoritism
LPN Vaccinator (Former Employee) - Bakersfield, CA - June 9, 2023
I did not enjoy my time here. No mad how diligent and efficiently I worked, they would always favor random nurses without great worth ethic. I will never go back to such a company.

You do a lot of work, but you get a lot back!
Medical Assistant Pediatrics (Current Employee) - Tacoma, WA - June 8, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? My group of people are like a family to me. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The need for staff. Seems like we are short-staffed a lot. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? We have a fun work environment. Every Tuesday for lunch we do some sort of get together for the clinic and either have games, a takeout lunch, or trivia. Something to bring us together What is a typical day like for you at the company? Get to work, clock in, have morning huddle as a clinic, meet with my provider, room patients.

Horrible management
RN Staff Nurse (Former Employee) - San Jose, CA - June 8, 2023
Worst place to work as RN. RN has to work as MA, scheduler, janitor…. Horrible management which doesn’t care about nurses and patient safety, not supportive at all.

Good workplace
QA Tester (Former Employee) - Pleasanton, CA - June 6, 2023
It was fun working here . Good benefits and good perks . But upper management took all the decisions without involving employees . One suggestion would be to involve employees

Overall great place to work
Senior Consulting Data Analyst (Former Employee) - Oakland CA - June 6, 2023
Great place to work with good benefits and work life balance. However, growth was very limited and it was easy to become siloed. It takes a long time to see progress and at times can feel very bureaucratic.

Not amazing, not the worst
Great place to start a career, decent benefits. Within some orgs, opportunities for advancement are severely limited by overly strict qualification requirements, particularly around having specific numbers of years of experience and direct managerial experience. Many folks have to leave and get leadership experience elsewhere before coming back.

Project Manager (Former Employee) - Portland, OR - June 2, 2023
Good company, takes care of their employees. Lots of areas to transfer to if interested. Definitely a place where your internal connections get you places, so if not into office politics, don’t be too frustrated by this.

Limited Opportunity for Contract Employee
Pharmacist (Former Employee) - Remote - June 1, 2023
This was a contract opportunity and there was no opportunity to convert to a permanent position. It was nice to work remotely, but in the end, due to the budget and plans they were not able to convert the group of contract employees I was hired with. The teams I worked under provided support and resources.
