Project Manager I (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CANovember 28, 2017
This was the worst place I have ever worked!

Some departments are well run and have good people. The last department I worked in did not. Most of the people in that department behaved like they were still in junior high school. There were cliques and lots of gossiping and backstabbing. People were mistreated because they didn't dress a certain way or were of a different ethnicity. Management was aware of the culture and not only did nothing they participated in the nasty behavior. If you need accommodations for a disability, you won't get them. If you say anything to HR, you will be retaliated against and managed out. This has a very hierarchical culture which can make it very difficult to get work done on time.

As a first job out of college, it gave me a good preview of the health care system and an internal eye on operations within the hospital. I worked w/in IT training for the UMR system. Overall, it was fun and the people were great, but as far as employee motivation, there was none.

Senior Programmer/Analyst, Team Lead (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CAOctober 12, 2017
Kaiser is good to work for when a person does not need much career growth. I felt like there were a lot of politics when I worked there and some people are working in their position just because they knew someone in that department

Great work environment
Project Analyst & Primary LTS Contact (Current Employee) –  Pasadena, CAOctober 11, 2017
Huge spacious office, fully equipped with a variety of teas, coffees and sugar to keep you up. A typical day would be entering my cubicle and working projects all morning until my lunch, and then back to work. The culture on my team was not the best, no one spoke to each other, and the most you would get from your colleagues is a hi and bye. Management lacked communicating with their employees. Never showed any appreciation to them. Hardest part of the job was knowing you have a lot of work on your plate, but no appreciation or value once you complete it all. Most enjoyable part of the job was interacting and networking with other departments and teams.
Pros
Great diversity in the office
Cons
No benefits, no vacation time, no appreciation for hard work

The environment is a good one and the people are friendly. If there were a place to start and finish a career, Kaiser would be the company to do it. Only wish I could have stayed.
Pros
Free to take breaks when you like.

Senior Grants/Contracts Administrator (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CASeptember 20, 2017
Kaiser provides an excellent benefits package and advancement opportunities. They also provide annual training for employees to stay on top of current regulations and new trends in the job market.

The workplace culture was a bit competitive but team oriented. Co workers were professional individuals.

The hardest part of the job was maintaining work life balance. The job took a lot of time and commitment during grant and budget cycles submissions.

excellent benefits

no life balance

PROJECT MANAGER I (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CAJuly 24, 2017
Great place to work if you like to be discriminated against, harassed and retaliated against if you complain. Raises, when you get them, are only 1/2 percent, not even a COL. Management plays favorites.

Regional Operations Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CAJuly 24, 2017
24/7 and constant work, in some areas vs. others shows imbalance of leadership skills in Revenue opportunities. Compassionate and supportive interactions can improve the working relationships. Other departments are showing improved support to the balance of life.

Research Administrative Analyst (Former Employee) –  Pasadena, CAJuly 14, 2017
Research is an essential part of what it means to be a learning organization. At Kaiser Permanente, research helps KP learn what they need to do to provide better care for their members and promote better health in the community.

Scientists, clinicians, and health care professionals work side-by-side to ask and answer questions that make a difference in health today.
Pros
Dynamic team environment.
Cons
Sky-high stress.
