The environment is cut throat coupled with inexperienced store managers and district managers breaking the law when it comes to their treatment of the associates. It would be considered a hostile work environment...
If you like ton's of STRESS and being around people who are constantly talking about the other's... come aboard!! ..lol ... It's one of the most unprofessional places I've ever worked !! The company ONLY cares about your sales... other than that, you are simply another number to them. I worked for the company several years back and left because I hated so bad... went on to other things. Then I ended up moving to another state and decided to go back to work for them, mainly because they had an opening, I needed a job quickly, and knew I could get hired back easily.. and guess what?? ... Nothing has changed !! The pay is even worse !! They started me back out with less than what I was even making before... Most of the employee's are only being paid between $8-$9 an hour, and FORGET about ALL the commission promises they make you... you won't make squat unless your in a high volume store... and everyone is hitting their VERY HIGH goals. The ONLY people making any money at Kay's is the management, and corporate office !!
