Compared to other places I've taught or applied, the KU approach to hiring is much more about teaching. No questions about research or publishing. There's at least one test teach, and a lot of discussion about the culture and expectations. After I started working, I realized with the small teams, it's essential that new faculty fit in with the team and goals. Read the mission statement - KU truly embraces it.
Poor. The lady who interviews is only looking for someone she can manipulate.

Depends on which position. Faculty have an interview which is followed by a test teach of 15 to 20 minutes

The interview process is very thorough. However very necessary when selecting the right candidate for the position.
