I never got an interview, because KSU has a diverse workforce-of millennials. I live 4 miles from the Kent campus, have a master's degree in psych, BA in communication, 6 years in-house teaching experience, 30 years writing experience and applied for 100 jobs, some a carbon copy of my most recent job, but I never even got called for an interview because of my age-and yes, the online application does screen for that by asking questions that are mandatory, not about age, but that indicate an age range, and mine is just too old. Assuming that a person is exactly the same as any other person born the same year is pure prejudice, just as assuming a person of a certain creed or color is the same as any other person in that group, but if someone has an aunt or parent who smoked and drank and sat watching TV for 40 years and they're in ill health or experiencing cognitive decline, KSU's officials offensively and wrongfully assume someone born the same year, who did yoga, was a runner and had a healthy nutritional program is exactly the same, therefore SENILE. I'm sure they would counter that by pointing out some old folks who have been there since they were young, but ask them how many people over 60 they have hired. I can tell you, that no matter how qualified they were, the answer is 0.

It doesnt take that long. A student has to be recommended by a professor to become a tutor, but once that is done it does not take long to be hired.

Aramark was the worst thing that could’ve happened to Dining Services; their unethical behavior is appalling and I can’t believe the university would stand behind them...regardless of their multimillion dollar contribution. You’ll have a great Starbucks and facility renovations, but no one to work. Do away with a management company all together...or even bring Sodexo back, they did a great job compared to the Aramark train wreck.
