Kids' Country Careers and Employment

The changes that were made during my time there were very good. It was a very stressful environment and chaotic, but I did enjoy it. I had great coworkers and I also really liked the trainings they offered. I learned a lot.

Majority of coworkers are terrible, always starting drama for no reason and they will constantly trash talk others. I love the kids so much but the constant abuse from the staff isn't worth it anymore.

Severely understaffed

Too many children, not enough staff. Breaks a uphill battle to take. Good luck finding someone to cover for a bathroom break. The job itself is easy make sure kids are safe, just it can be very confusing and overwhelming. This overwhelming can get out of hand quickly. If more people work here then Id say that this would be a good job. Just we dont have enough people for an army of kids

Fun place to work!

I've worked at Kids' Country for the past 5 years and have loved every moment of it! I came here to gain experience working with kids for my career, but I got hooked and never left! Every day is an adventure, if you love working with kids and sharing your passion through teaching then this is the job for you. I was able to learn and grow by learning under a great management team. I've been able to learn skills from different managers and it has helped promote me to where I am now. I really appreciate this job because I get to work with school aged children which is preparing me to pursue my career as an elementary school teacher. I also really appreciate that this is a before and after school program and not a day care. The best part of this job is getting to know the kids and their families. I have created so many great memories here with the staff and the students! It's so rewarding having kids that have aged out come back to visit! This job is a great way to see if you like to work with kids and if this is a career to pursue.

Just OK

This job is fun but always short staffed. The kids are cool and they're fun. Teachers work hard for not enough money. Some managers are nice but others not. A lot of politics. Not what you know and how you perform it's who your friends are.Expect good work with not a lot of help. Hard to work when you feel like you're stuck.
