On the weekends and at night, the pace is very fast, so you have to keep up. You have to feed the children, take care of the lines up front, be able to be aware of what's going on in the entire Center by looking around and not just staying focused on one area. You must be able to answer phones and do multiple tasks at times. So if you are intelligent, driven and can work at a fast pace this job is for you. It is a very fast-paced environment on the weekend so you must be able to think and act quickly at all times. You are watching children after all, not bagging groceries.

My Center in Connecticut can get a bit stressful when there are a lot of kids and a lot going on. However, if we have a good team on a particular night and every team mate participates and does every duty they're supposed to do and doesn't hold the team back it can be a fantastic night. One weak link in the team a chain can make a huge difference and stress out the entire team. Everyone must do their job and when that happens, there is not very much stress even though it is busy or still fast pace. That's why, please be aware of all your job descriptions and duties before you apply because this job might not be for you. You have to be able to multitask and do every single duty that's in your job description. This is a job which is very fast paced and works with a lot of children so having child care experience is definitely helpful but also being able to complete every task as stated, like picking up phones and using registers, calling out games on a daily basis and calling out children's names when it's time to go. Kids Quest is a place for extremely hard workers who are leaders and take initiative to do things without being asked. Paying attention to the kids at all times and not doing things that aren't helpful to the team or children.
