Benefits are the great thing about the company since it's an oil and gas industry. 401K and also pension. IT department is hit and miss but can't speak for the other departments.

Great place to work

Fast paced environment, the job is as easy or hard as you make it. Plenty of overtime for those that want it, good pay and benifits. Management does their best to help out employees.

Cutthroat environment and policies only followed when it benefits the company.

Decent benefits and company truck provided. Management seems to be going down hill since covid. Morale is an all time low and the company is becoming a revolving door in the last year. Pay is decent if you can actually get progressed, but that is even becoming increasingly difficult. Bonuses have been taken as well. Management is also very disrespectful and HR is nowhere to be found, but at least there is an ethics hotline.

No breaks at all, not even an unpaid lunch

Expect to work 12-13 hours a day, 6 -7 days a week. With zero breaks, no lunch, no unpaid breaks, nothing. You will work the entire time. If that sounds like a good healthy environment, apply you will love it here and make decent money.

Way too much forced overtime, no home life. The money pretty decent

Not enough proper training. Safety isn't a big priority & you never know when you will get an off day. The blind leading the blind here. Management is clueless about what's going on. The equipment is ran down & you're forced to still operate them until they finally breaks down & then everyone starts looking at you crazy blaming it all on you instead of the company. 1thing I can say is the benefits are really good...12-13 hours of straight work with no lunch. If you want a job with a lot of forced overtime & no family life, apply here.

Good work for good pay

I enjoy my job. Its not overly taxing. Dealing with the weather is honestly the hardest part. Getting things worked on can take a little while but, that's most jobs.

Good stepping stone

Good pay, good benefits is a union operator. Great place to learn to operate as they'll hire anyone with anyone with a pulse. By far the most corporate company to work for. Make no mistake they don't care about anyone employee. The employee has to juggle doing what's asked of them and using "right to stop" kinder Morgan's version of a get out of jail free card... if you didn't see a pot hole and break your ankle it's your fault even if it's been written up and reported for months. I know someone who broke an ankle and walked on it until they quit for fear of being fired because of right to stop. They're a pipeline conglomerate so any hope of fighting for what's right will end in failure; their lawyer team is too strong. Be prepared to work nights if you work there, bend the rules while management looks the other way (until you get hurt). Worked at Dakota Bulk in South St Paul.

Good easy job

Easy job, just take your time and always Dual Verify. Great Co workers and some good crew leads. Just get ready to work alot, even during your days off.

Great Company bad lower management

Great company wish it could have worked out. However lower management is terrible. My group was very small and often times it could be a very toxic environment. I did not witness that in other groups or departments in the company. They will come in and pay you a little lower but nice to know that try their best to avoid lay offs. Benefits are great but if your looking for promotions based on achievements this company is not for you.

This company is good overall BUT some of the employees are very favoritism driven, management was a joke...BUT food company

Decent company unless you're on the Liquids side, the coke side is very favoritism driven. The management was not very helpful. No one ever could give you a straight answer. Always some drama

The benefits

For all practical purposes Kinder Morgan was my last job but unfortunately my manager was a narcissist and our personalities clashed to the point I was forced to leave. Because of the personal vendetta created about a misconstrued job performance, I was punished severely while co workers provided less than acceptable work performances weekly. Other than this unfortunate occurrence I had full intentions of retiring with KM, best company I’ve ever worked for and recommend others try employment with this company

Micromanaged with zero direction

The company is a good one. They just don’t have any idea how bad management is just winging the job. The good workers get abused and the bad ones get rewarded. It could be a great place but it has zero discipline.

Backward thinking company

Big time debt problems and missmanagement of money. Old boys club, compensation and benefits below average. Job security not what it used to be. People in management and engineering roles with no experience or academic qualifications.

Good place to work

Work hours are from 7:30-3:30 Monday-Friday. the team has assignments that are self-paced depending on what the mission is. For what I do does not requires any weekend work.

Run away... don't walk run

Was laid off from my job here but even before then I was unhappy. No real management. Not the friendliest place I have every worked and upper management had no idea what their "worker bees" really did for the company. Benefits were good, have to say really good health benefits. And pay was pretty good too. Work was stressful and often unrewarded. All in all the old school corporate mentality made this a hard environment to thrive in.
