Great Team Environment - Tremendous patient centered care
Work days are always busy! Constant communication between administrative and clinical team members. Hospice care is stressful but very rewarding!

Priorities
If you don't mind disruption in work/life balance, working here allows you to earn good. It's not uncommon for RNs to potentially earn above $100K even with approx base rate of about $70K/year.
Pros
You see patients alone so your A personality shines through.
Cons
You do burn the midnight candle trying to catch up with documentation.

You were spread way too thin and there was inconsistent management
I would see 5 patients daily and learned how to manage a variety of symptoms with cost effective treatments. Management was very inconsistent and no one stayed in the position for very long. Co-workers were great. The hardest part of the job was losing a patient that you had gotten to know very well and the most enjoyable part of the job was making a difference in patients and families lives.
Pros
Flexible work hours
Cons
Poor management

A semi flexible work place
It is definitely a challenge everyday. The paperwork can be very gruesome and tidiest. Management and staff are close knit and many are great team players. However, this hospice does not have it's own admissions nurse. Therefore, expect late days for admissions and many changes to your day. Flexibility is key.
Pros
close knit "family" of staff
Cons
no admissions nurse, often work after hours.
