While working at KOP, I met driven people who were eager to learn and work. The problem is employee training. There was poor effort to fully train new employees. The “shadow shift,” a shift where new employees tag along with a trainer, was a good first start. But there were vital parts of training that were completely skipped over that I eventually got in trouble for not knowing. Once an employee has been working at KOP for a few months, it becomes an easy, fun job. But for new employees starting out, I was lost and often criticized for not knowing the run down.
There is a whole month where if you average a certain amount of hours throughout the season, they allow you a paid month vacation!
