Swim Instructor (Former Employee) – San Carlos, CA – December 11, 2018
The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing my student's progress! There is no feeling like it. If you are "just passing through" you may not be the best fit for KSA. Students benefit from consistency in their instructors, as building trust is fundamental. A great job for someone who wants to give back. The hardest part of the job was long hours in the pool weekly, although this was my choice. There are office, deck & deck safety (float) opportunities as well, so that your hours consist of more than just teaching. All staff must have teaching shifts.
Swim Instructor and Office Staff (Former Employee) – San Carlos, CA – December 5, 2018
Currently undergoing management change and there was always an uncertainty with who was in charge of what. This is a Christian swim school so there are employee appearance rules regarding visible tattoos, allowed facial piercings/jewelry, and hair style and color. Generally the employees who have been working there for a while are all great, upbeat, and friendly. They hang out outside of work regularly and do open-water swims and other activities.
Swim Teacher (Current Employee) – San Carlos, CA – November 18, 2018
Undergoing CEO change, as a result, a lot of changes being made each day and week. Other then that is place is a lot of fun to work for. The love to celebrate each worker and make them feel special and unique!
Community Outreach Coordinator/Event Coordinator (Current Employee) – San Carlos, San Mateo, Redwood City – June 14, 2018
KSA is hungry for growth, which can be great when you have the right people leading the company. Sadly this is not the case; Management is sloppy. Most of the staff is all over the place because the company cannot be consistent in standard and regulations.
Deck Supervisor/ Swimming Instructor (Current Employee) – San Carlos, CA 94070 – January 8, 2018
I always enjoy working with kids, King's Swim Academy was a fun place to work, there is just no room for growth as an employee. They have a large turnover rate with their teachers, they should figure that out.
Fun with kids, get to work in water.
No room for growth, employee health seems to be a secondary concern.
Swim Instructor (Current Employee) – San Carlos, CA – June 6, 2017
One of the best jobs I've ever had. I love kids, enjoy the water and mix the two it's amazing! It's a little hard on the skin and hair sometimes. Dry, itchy, and in winter it's a little worse. But I love it either way, very rewarding and the end of the day.
