Temporary position
Scanner/Copier (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAMarch 15, 2017
I only worked for Knox for 3 weeks as it was a temporary position for a contracted job. I would have enjoyed working for them longer and would absolutely work for them again.

Okay short-term job, but never any raises, plus such a huge workload!
Courier & Process Server (Former Employee) –  San Jose, CAAugust 23, 2016
It may seem like a simple Monday thru Friday job, but there are absolutely no raises or promotions whatsoever and it can get stressful and complex, particularly if you are one of their drivers and couriers. In the first place, the pay is barely above today's minimum wage in California (and Silicon Valley for that matter). And seems like pretty much everything MUST be done on a RUSH basis due to the nature of the legal field.

Very disappointing with this company and how cheap they are in terms of their scanning equipment and lack of maintenance with their cars, and yet considering how much money the legal field reaps in on a regular basis, they can't pay us more. As a courier and process server, some folks would say that you get used to all that driving, but the fact is that with this office in San Jose (Northern California headquarters), they will send you all over the Bay Area from the local South Bay to the Tri-Valley and Peninsula, and as far away as San Francisco, Santa Rosa, and even the Delta area (Concord, Pittsburg, Antioch). They will never mention this ahead of time, but do be prepared to go to Sonoma County (Napa), and maybe even to places like Stockton or Sacramento. It would really make more sense to expand and add offices in the other large cities like San Francisco and Oakland. As much as 250 miles each day is really not good for your health and well-being. And traffic has been getting worse and worse over the years, so no, you'll never really get used to all this driving! The office is also clearly disorganized and there are times I have seen duplicate work
more... orders or I have been sent to a bad address or been given the wrong information.

Bottom line is that this may be a good short-term job, but I personally would never make a career out of it. The job is not very flexible in terms of schedule (come on, we all are human and have other obligations during the week!). Medical benefits are a joke, and no 401K or savings plans are available. Some of the staff also treats you like you are some kind of kindergartner. Never really got along with the vast majority of the co-workers during my time working at Knox (there seriously needs to be more diversity in the workplace, in my opinion).

Cons
Very low pay and never any raises, so much pressure and lots of work that has to be done daily, no growth in the company, no promotions, high turnover rate, huge lack of diversity in the workplace.

Fun place to work at but no raise
Receptionist/Secretary (Former Employee) –  Irvine, CAApril 14, 2016
I worked here for a few months as a receptionist . It was a great place to work for if you enjoy taking on two job duties at a time . Management was okay for the most part but they did show alot of personal preference for some employees and the ones they didnt like they threw more work at and gave a harder time ... Pay sucks but the work schedule was good .
Pros
Great schedule holidays off ...
Cons
No raise ever too much work on your hands due to short staff

Knox
Courier/Legal Processor (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAApril 2, 2013
Driving to various attorney offices to deliver & pickup case files for processing. • Once morning and afternoon routes have been completed, all case files are placed in their own individual route boxes so other couriers can take them to other court locations for processing. • At the end of the work day, the case files are taken to the courts to be filed and sent back to the clients.
