Computer Systems Engineer (Current Employee) –  San Diego, CAMay 21, 2018
There are way too much politics to be played here. I understand the whole government and contractor mentality but all the politics inhibit work from being completed a majority of the time. KES is a decent company to work for if you don't feel the need to be passionate about your work and want somewhere with decent pay where you come in complete your work/hours, and go home.

Small Company Aspiring to Be Big
Engineer (Current Employee) –  San Diego, CAApril 6, 2017
Business is 22 years old and growing after acquiring a major Contract. Small business mentality but working to implement a professional environment to improve position for bigger awards.
Frugal minded company depending on requirements.

Employee management has been a challenge for some employees, they're either micromanaged or under managed.
Processes are small minded and tools are few for what most professionals are used to perform their job.

Owner is a great guy whom is respectable and an aggressive go getter. He is admired by his employees.
Culture is family like and full of friendly employees who work well together.
Pros
Small friendly environment
Cons
Too small for financial reasons as far as salary and tools

Subcontracting work for the government.
Senior Computer System Analyst (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAJanuary 7, 2016
We worked on the ADNS systems that are being put on the Navy ships in the fleet. It is a high pressure and high turnover work environment. People getting hired and fired and quitting and getting promoted. It's really strange.
