I work at kohls in hendersonville TN. And I was never told this policy, in fact my mother found this and that's how I found out. I was already there for about a month and then asked a manager. And she said "oh no-one told you?". So yea there is 12 points. You get fired if you lose them all. If u call out 1 point, if you don't show up 2 points, if u leave an hour early 1/2 points, 2 hours 1 point. And I'm assuming u get them all back the days u called them in, just like a year after. Like if you're sick on July 7 then u get it next year's July 7th. And I am assuming because no-one has still told me that part. I have been there for 7 months

The policy at the Kohls where I work is :
No call/no show=2 points
Call out=1point
Tardy/leave less than two hours early=1/2 point
Leave more than 2 hours early=1 point
12 points total= YOU'RE FIRED
The points do fall off your attendance record after a year. The bad part is that no matter what reason you have for missing ( sick with the flu, food poisoning, or pneumonia) you better have someone reliable cover your shift or use sick time, otherwise you get that point. I personally think it is a ridiculous policy that they DON'T accept Dr's notes. If you are really sick, with proof, it should not count against you. I know fellow associates that save their sick time( a measly 22 hours) for when they are really sick but sometimes that's not enough. I work with ladies who are 70+ and they get sick easily and often. And forget trying to find someone to cover for you. Kohls only allows an associate to cover a shift for an associate from the same department. Which means you have a limited number of people to ask and many of them say NO constantly. I really hate the policy here, so much that I may end up leaving.

At our store if you get 12 points you are gone. 1/2 point if tarty or leave 2 hrs early (I believe), 1 point if you miss a shift. Points drop off after a year, so if you got one today (Oct. 21, 2017) it would drop off your record on Oct. 21, 2018.

The policy is making sure you show up to work when you are schedule to work. If you can't make it, calling in or having someone else cover for you.
