Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGood entry job. No room to grow. Pays new hires MORE than giving raises to staff that’s hardworking. Management sucks. They never check on staff. Majority of the supervisors and admin are unapproachable. Facilities Director is rude and lazy. Expects more from staff with no extra pay. Stingey with raises unless you are favored. A few good apples in the group. Great benefits. Worklife balance is great. PTO accrual is decent.
Pros
Some nice coworkers. 1 hour lunch.
Cons
Management

Fun place to work, amazing supervisor
Dental Hygiene Assistant (Former Employee) - 361 Grant Ave, Junction City, KS 66441 - April 21, 2023
The job is very fast-paced but the team is very supportive and everyone there wants you to succeed. The supervisor is AMAZING! She is the kindest soul on the planet and an angel to work under. She actually motivates you to learn more and will always support you when you need it.

Complete Overhaul of Management
Current Medical Department Employee (Current Employee) - Medical Department - February 15, 2023
I was nervous taking a position when they told me there had a been a complete overhaul of management. To my surprise, management is very hands on in the medical department. All the supervisors round more than once to check if we need help. They have even helped when needed. You do not find that in other places. They apparently have changed orientation too, as my orientation schedule was over a month long. It appears they are a growing company and with that comes change and an opportunity to grow. I am excited for the potential to grow in my career.
Pros
1 hour lunch, 2-15 minute paid breaks, great PTO, 100% vested 401K, Off Weekends & Holidays! Short Day Fridays. Try to accommodate schedules due to child care issues, etc.

Why I give this company 5 stars
Anonymous (Former Employee) - Junction City, KS - February 3, 2022
5 stars for the 5 beneficial things I learned here: 1. I'm able to recognize extremely poor upper management. When you have a COO that is also the only grant writer, operational decisions are made based on approved grants without first consulting with department heads or subject matter experts. Upper management does not care if something is unfeasible - there is a grant for it, therefore, it will happen. 2. I learned to recognize signs of stress and low morale. Take a careful look at the employees next time for you will see the paleness of their skin, the dark soulless gaze of their eyes, and the twitching muscles behind the forced smiles. High employee turnover is a strong sign too. 3. I learned the value of continuing education and training. This company expects you to already have ALL the knowledge and experience prior to being hired, because they will not pay a penny for you to professionally develop yourself even when it is beneficial for the company. So I continued to learn and get additional training on my own, which is a great accomplishment for myself. The company, however, will pay for upper management to attend training and conferences out of state. 4. Camaraderie. You find solace in your coworkers amidst the abyss of the company. When they, too, are experiencing inadequate treatment from a company that claims its employees are family, you form these amazing unbreakable bonds. 5. I found my self-worth. Despite being severely underpaid according to market value, I performed my best and accomplished so much for the company. I grew a backbone when my leaders should've. -

Konza does not know how to retain employees. Upward mobility is non-existent and the benefits, though good, do not make up for the lack of salary.
Computer Systems Analyst (Former Employee) - Junction City, KS - January 15, 2022
I worked in IT and they fired my entire department except for me, I asked for a raise and they considered that my "letter of resignation". There was no counter-offer to the amount I wanted, it was just a "no" despite me being the only employee left in IT. They do not value their employees and management cant seem to understand why there is so much turnover.
Pros
Benefits
Cons
Admin doesn't know what their doing, training is almost non-existent .

Teamwork
Lead Receptionist (Former Employee) - Junction City, KS - October 29, 2021
I was there from 2017-2018 working reception on the medical side and I enjoyed the teamwork we had among us. Between billing, medical records and reception; there was always coverage for another and the work flow just went smoothly.
Pros
Teamwork
Cons
Continuous changes to how things needed to be done

Starter Job
Receptionist (Former Employee) - Junction City, KS - October 14, 2021
Great entry level job , but definitely not a forever job. Little to no advancement opportunities available. This can be a fast paced environment so adequate training may be difficult at times. Supportive coworkers. There’s always someone available to help. Covid screenings done at front door to limit exposure. 1 hour lunch breaks were great !
Pros
Team oriented, Flexibility, 1 hour Lunch Break, Decent Pay, Good Health Ins. Benefits
Cons
No advancement opportunities

Bad
Receptionist (Current Employee) - Junction City, KS - March 1, 2021
Toxic work environment, clique, mean girl culture, management listens to respond not to understand, employee problems not dealt with directly instead management will belittle less “popular” employees
Pros
Short work day on Friday
Cons
Too many to list

Don't expect much
Office Staff (Former Employee) - Junction City, KS - September 15, 2020
Work-life balance The vacation time is pretty great, but it needs to be for as often as you’re not going to want to be there. Pay & benefits Your pay is based on how well you fit in with the “it crowd”, not the amount of work you put into your job. So suck up, don’t work too hard. You get decent sick pay, but unless you’re out for more than a couple of days you’ll be eating your vacation time before they let you touch a second of your sick leave. The dental benefits are great. The medical benefits aren’t worth what you pay for them if you go anywhere other than Konza for services. Job security and advancement Advancement opportunities are given to those favored by upper management. If you make it up the ranks expect to do more than one persons job for half the pay. Management Truth be told, if the current CEO was removed this clinic would probably function a lot better. He has a tendency to place people in lead positions and then proceed to undermine them the first time someone complains about their management style. Management receives no support from him if they are not favored so it should come as no surprise that they eventually give up trying to be effective in their positions. Culture If you remember what it was like to be in high school where the popular kids thought they ruled the school, this clinic is a lot like that. They’re just more subtle about it. Overall Decent pay. Benefits are more expensive than they are useful. Nice vacation time which you’ll need because you’ll want to get away from this place. Don’t expect to be paid more than you are liked.

Stay away!
LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) (Former Employee) - Junction City, KS - March 15, 2020
The employees are rude and believe they are better than everyone. If you are not in their "clique" they run you off. Their is ABSOLUTELY no professionalism! The providers have no value for patient care , it's all a numbers game to them. The only way a patient gets treated with respect is if they are friends with someone in the facility. Training is non existent. It's worse than an all girls high school!

Fun, Fast paced, great place to work
Certified Medical Assistant (Former Employee) - Manhattan, KS - October 23, 2019
I would run patients for my providers. I would intake patient information and report to the provider. I learned to be a better person and grew to be more proficient with my job.

Don’t work here
Dental Assistant (Former Employee) - Junction City, KS - October 16, 2019
Unless your head is shoved up the bosses butt, you will not make it here. They don’t care about your personal life so don’t let them lie to you. Be their personal servant all the time or you will not be doing good enough. And that’s just Dental.
Pros
Pay is okay
Cons
Literally everything else.

Konza Prairie has improved in the few years since I left because the person running the front desk is gone. Overall the pay is ok and the providers do care .

Hostile work environment
LPN (Former Employee) - Junction City, KS - June 2, 2019
They micromanage you and do not give raises. Everyone gets a poor job evaluation expect for the ones that are friends with the boss. The turn over is very high. I have seen so many nurses leave due to management being unfair.
Pros
Free lunch from vendors. Helping the community.
Cons
Micromanage, poor communication.

Everyone cared about patient care.
Dental Assistant (Former Employee) - Junction City, KS - September 13, 2018
Working for a Community Health Center is a unique experience as we serve all patients regardless of their ability to pay and provide service to the most medically vulnerable populations in our communities. Community Health Centers allow professionals to fully realize why they got into health care to begin with; to treat patients in need of care.
