A good place if you know how to play their game
Senior Associate (Current Employee) - Tysons Corner, VA - August 3, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt’s all politics at the end of the day. You don’t even have to be that good at your job. If people (leadership) like you, you will be given the right opportunities to rise to the top.

Collaborative working environment
Internal audit & enterprise risk senior associate (Current Employee) - Manhattan, NY - November 30, 2023
The company culture is very positive. The people are what make this firm worth working at. The emphasis on utilization can be stressful and having to ensure your schedule is filled to meet the firm requirements. When there is a drop in utilization it is your responsibility to ensure you make up the time.

Not good enough
Consultant (Former Employee) - Woodcliff Lake, NJ - November 22, 2023
Cut throat culture"Inclusive" on paper only and for photos There is no way you can advance unless you are friends with leadership It is not about the skills you have. It's who you know. And don't bother to apply for a job. The person has already been pre-selected. "interview" is just a formality. Posting a job is only for formality. They work you to death. 60-80hours/week is normal. And they cut you away from one day to another. KPMG demands loyalty but you get none from them.
Pros
Remote work
Cons
Office politics, cut throat culture, "Inclusive" on paper only, no advancement, no future

Relaxed, lots of opportunities to learn
International Trade Analyst (Former Employee) - Salt Lake City, UT - November 16, 2023
The job was good but could have involved more active engagement with supervisor and team members. They invest a lot in your learning, such as becoming good at US tariff law.

Auditor
Contingent Worker (Former Employee) - New York, NY - November 14, 2023
A typical day was to analyze information and create a report. Long hours were the hardest for me. Great Management. Great work culture. Needs more support for new hires. I leaned nothing. The most enjoyable part was meeting with the team. It's a great company for college students to start with. Any Big 4 experience will enhance your resume and open more opportunities in the future. It's better if you pass CPA exam and get your CPA licence first.
Pros
Culture is great
Cons
Contractor job

4 Stars
Associate (Former Employee) - Chicago, IL - November 13, 2023
KPMG is a great company with fantastic benefits. Great Benefits. Support from internal teams is great though. At times, information from leadership was lacking. Also, you are required to do extra work/assignments outside of project work that can feel tedious.

Great place to learn!
Senior Audit Associate (Former Employee) - Boston, MA - November 9, 2023
Working at KPMG has been a rewarding experience for me. I have learned a lot from the talented and diverse team of professionals who are always ready to help and support each other. KPMG offers a variety of opportunities for career growth and development, as well as flexible work arrangements and competitive benefits. The culture at KPMG is collaborative, inclusive, and respectful, and I feel valued and appreciated for my contributions. KPMG is also committed to making a positive impact on society and the environment through its corporate responsibility initiatives and sustainability practices. I am proud to be part of KPMG and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a challenging and fulfilling career in the professional services industry.

Great growth & training opportunities with great responsibilities
Audit Associate (Former Employee) - New York, NY - November 9, 2023
It is a great growth opportunity to work on many different engagements in a similar industry in a fast paced work. However, it may feel very competitive and a little stressful during busy seasons due to minimum long hours.

Great way to gain experience, Hard work
Senior Tax Associate (Current Employee) - Pittsburgh, PA - November 6, 2023
You are given many opportunities to lead and take control of projects, talk directly with clients, and gain a wide knowledge of tax concepts which wouldn't be available in most other direct from college hire positions. However, you will have to work long hours, have high expectations placed upon you, and despite the higher than industry-average salaries compared to years of experience, your per hour wages will not be very high because of the culture of being "paid-in-experience".

The leadership is lost
Manager (Current Employee) - New York, NY - November 6, 2023
The smaller teams have the ability to create their own culture. However, KPMG leadership is largely a bit lost at how to motivate and steer a psychologically safe work environment. I would not recommend working here - I think there are other places with a better culture and greater competency levels.

Underpaid compared to competition
Audit Associate (Current Employee) - United States - October 25, 2023
Great for fast-paced learning environment but not for physical or mental well-being. Luck plays a factor in how long you end up staying. Each engagement/team has their own respective culture and expectations.

Mean Girls
Manager, Talent Acquisition (Former Employee) - Remote - October 23, 2023
The organization has the best intentions for culture but unfortunately the talent acquisition side of the business can be somewhat toxic and has its cliques.

Great people, too much red tape
Manager (Former Employee) - Boston, MA - October 20, 2023
Great people to work with, but too much red tape to get anything approved. There is a lot of politics in upper management and lately, a lack of direction.
