Fast pace environment with Mentors there to help you
MEMBER SERVICE (Current Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – April 9, 2018
answer 60 calls per day, find resolutions, file Grievance and Appeals, changing doctors for patients per their request, explain the benefits of their insurance plans, what it covers and what is not covered. Assist with Prescriptions overrides, also assisted patients with Authorizations that are pending status. The hardest part of my job was being hard on myself because I want perfection. The most enjoyable part of the job, was talking to members of all ages, and different cultures and disabilities and to be able to help them out and guide them in the right direction to get the help they need made me feel like I saved their life Physically and Mentally.
Department Assistant (Former Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – March 29, 2018
Company and people are mission driven. If you are looking for company where you can make a difference come to LA Care. Great people at all levels of the company - joining make positive is like joining a family and everyone is supportive of each other and has a great time together.
Senior Program Specialist, CME Program (Current Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – March 6, 2018
My role as Senior Program Specialist is extremely stressful with heavy workload and responsibilities for the organization's CME Program. I am the only staff person taking care of the entire CME Program since September 2014 until current year 2018.
flexible work schedule
heavy workload without additional staff support, slow career advancement for some employees
Pharmacy Technician Contactor (Former Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – March 6, 2018
great place to work at. The managers left you alone and you worked unsupervised for most of the day. Can take breaks when you want to, weekly meeting where you are included in the conversation. A contract job and the drive was too much.
Project Manager (Advisor) (Former Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – March 4, 2018
I would not recommend going to LA Care. It is very disorganized, starting from HR. I wouldn't return or look forward to working with them in the future. I was not a fan of their culture, if you could call it that. There is poor engagement within departments and the entire company.. There is a poor work/life balance as well.
Training and Education Specialist (Current Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – February 15, 2018
Great place to learn and to further your career because of the room for growth. Upper management sometimes does not provide a clear vision/expectations for the company which causes a lot of delay and unnecessary confusion on major projects and implementations.
Claims Quality Control Examiner (Current Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – February 7, 2018
LA CARE is a great place to work...great benefits as well as great management that encourage the employees to learn more and move up in the company. The most enjoyable part of the job is the team work.
Member Services Quality Reviewer (Former Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – January 6, 2018
With LA Care it is a typical work day where hours must be met must be there on time and absence or frequent absence is frowned upon. If management there likes you they will work with you but if you challenge them they will not like you. And your opinion is not valued
Manager of Medical Management (Former Employee) – Los Angeles, CA – November 27, 2017
At the time the company was going through many changes as well as the healthcare industry. I had a very supportive team, although I worked in a department that is heavily impacted by changes in the industry, therefore the work hours were long.
