Love the staff, hate the management
Senior Associate (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILAugust 8, 2018
LEK offers terrific experience, but at a high cost. 18 hour days are extremely common, and retention is exceptionally low.The pay is reasonable, but you lose work/life balance for the sake of the role that you fill, and it is very common that small issues or simply bad luck in case allocation can derail your career progression. The review process is extremely ineffective, which creates longer term problems. Few associates last a full 2 years in the role.

Strong strategy consulting firm
Senior Strategy Associate (Current Employee) –  Boston, MAApril 22, 2018
Fast paced and challenging cases - long hours (~60-65 M-F is standard). Solid pay, smart people, and quite collegial. A lot of due diligence work and limited say in casework choice.

Poor place for MBA
Consultant (Case Team Leader) (Current Employee) –  San Francisco, CAJanuary 24, 2018
LEK model is intense. Associate heavy case team structure where MBAs are put into management Day 1. Very challenging if you don't come from a consulting background before since you need to get up to speed super quickly in order to direct associates on a daily basis.

no work life balance but you are able to learn a lot in a short amount of time. You are not expected to work weekends an mgmt is trying to have more work life balance with out by six policy which means one day every week you get off at six

Very bright people. Tough culture. Projects can be extremely demanding in terms of hours needed to complete.
Benefits are market standard. High turnover as in all consulting.

Great workplace
Help Desk Administrator (Current Employee) –  Boston, MANovember 28, 2015
I learned a lot while working here from a great work/life balance to a various amount of skills to help me advance to other things.

While most of it was troubleshooting, I learned other things as project management, upgrade periods, other skills from courses that they provided, etc.

The people was fantastic and understanding when it came to growth or personal struggles as well.

Typical of management consulting, the hours are long, but projects are interesting. The people that you work with are very smart, motivated and you can learn a lot from them.

Great place to work; tough working hours
Consultant - Strategy and commercial due diligence (Current Employee) –  Boston, MAApril 1, 2015
Good training and learning opportunities, but a tough place to work - Management are trying to improve the working experience, but natural limitations due to the due diligence focus we have

Expect this to improve over time as the firm really pushes longer-term strategy activation work

Overall, a great firm though and glad I've worked there
Pros
Learning opportunities, great co-workers
