Since so many of the original values the company was founded on no longer exist, it is a horrible culture and nothing feels good about going to work anymore.
The HR representative who called initially was friendly. I met her a few days later at the LL Bean career center which is friendly and inviting.
I was asked multiple questions about myself and my outdoors experiences. As well as why did I apply for the position.
What advice would you give the CEO of L.L. Bean, Inc. about how to improve it?
Improve ability to be a permanent employee, higher wages (it is just above minimum wage)
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at L.L. Bean, Inc.? What are the steps along the way?
Management is a million steps and the process is like nothing I have ever seen. It is horrific. I have worked for great retailers and it never felt like this!
Be sure that you are interviewing the person interviewing you, as well. Leadership at L.L.Bean is hit or miss - some are wonderful, and others are terrible. If you don't like the person interviewing you, don't take the position.
