Breakfast Cook (Former Employee) –  Corpus Christi, TXJune 13, 2017
A typical day of work at the La Quinta as a breakfast cook is getting up super early and cooking frozen food items for the guests staying at the hotel. Also cleaning dishes and restocking the fridge. I learned how to cook frozen items to the proper temperature. The management could've been a whole lot better. The hardest part of my job was keeping up with how much I needed to cook for the guests staying there and communicating with the manager. The most enjoyable part was the food.
Pros
Free breakfast and no night shifts
Cons
Bad management

The hard part about this job i would have to say is getting up early. I had to be there at 4:30. The good thing about working that early i got off at 10:30 - 11:00. Allowing me to have the whole day. I was able to meet all kinds of people. I had to open the breakfast area and cook the food. I would severe and make sure all foods were at the correct temperature. Also had to keep the food full. I had to make coffee and make sure there was plenty of creamer and sugars. I kept inventory of the food. After breakfast time was over, had to wash dishes, clean the breakfast area, and kept food that we could and dispose of food that we could not keep. When i was finish with all that needed to be done I was able to leave.
