Decent

This company have a lot of things to work on however, just staying organized, having good time management and just staying to yourself you wouldn’t have any problems.

Toxic management.

LabCorp Kansas has lots of issues. Especially in upper management. They are all over the place when it comes to making educated decisions. They are toxic and if you are not doing your job correctly even without proper training you are targeted. Going to HR ends up in covert retaliation. Thrown under the buss and used. The good is never appreciated. Avoid this place like the plague.

Pros

Not sure. Good peer coworkers

Cons

Sr Management

It's a lab job

Mandatory OT, revolving door, hostile environment. Repetitive tasks and frustrating machines. There's a depressing air to the whole building. If you're a contractor, HR stuff will be a nightmare. I also just felt like there was poor communication between departments.

Management was not familiar with jobs because they never did them

A typical day was report to the office, collect your supplies and start your route management was old-school, and there was no modern technology for specimen tracking.

Pros

Was offered a company car for $100 a month all expenses paid

Cons

Employees were not traded equal

It was OK

Managers didn't care to communicate until last minute. Very clique-ish in upper management as well. My coworkers were amazing and made working there bearable. Driving was boring but you got to take home the company car so that was a plus.

Awful, toxic, terrible management.

The take home vehicle is the only good thing about this job. Management is so bad, it's hard for me to even put it into words. All they care about is their bonus, they don't know how to run routes, train people, and they blame drivers for everything. Take home care is the only perk, and it's still not worth it. Stay away, I'm telling you.

Pros

Take home car

Cons

Everything else

If you love people and passionate about phlebotomy and want to work for a good company then this is the job for you

What is the best part of working at the company? My Supervisor is wonderful, communication is good. Free labs for myself and family is definitely a big plus! Room to grow with the company What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Having everything done for mid day and end day ship. I feel rushed and get stressed because I have to leave on time at the location I work. Mid day and end day itself isn’t hard What is the work environment and culture like at the company?I work alone at a Drs office, so my work environment is greatWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Start at 8:00 am, make sure to log everything, office clean and neat, get logged into my email and other Labcorp related things I’ll need for the day and start seeing patients for the labs the Dr has ordered (communication and being able to make the Pt feel at ease and comfortable is a must), let labs drawn to clot for 15 mins, centrifuge, process the labs and get them ready for shipment. I do other lab orders for stool studies and explain instructions to patient and I go ahead and put their name on the specimen container and place in a bag and write if it needs to be room temp, frozen or refrigerated just to make it easier for the patient. ordering supplies that are needed weekly and stocking.

Good for new grads

Labcorp is a good place to get your foot in the door if you’re a new grad with little to no experience. However, it isn’t a great place to stay long-term. Poorly compensated and management can be very messy.

Stressful workplace not worth the money they pay you

What is the best part of working at the company?Interacting with the different patients. You never know what someone is going through. Working here really humbles you. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The entire job itself is stressful. It’s a 4 person site, with only two people. And we stay busy. We have some entitled people that come in and act out from time to time and they talk to you as if you are nothing. Management never has your back. The pay isn’t worth the work/stress.What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The employees are wonderful. We laugh a lot to keep from crying. But we are a wonderful team. We are in a not so nice area, so we get a lot of homeless, drug users that come in. They need windows that let up so we can get fresh air in from time to time. It’s really stuffy. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Pulling up to work with a line of people waiting at the door to get labs done before work. Working non stop until lunch, because that’s how busy we get. By 10:30 I’m usually burned out. Same thing after lunch. But it depends on who your employees are and if they work and do their part.

Don't work for Labcorp

The best thing about working for Labcorp is the coworkers you meet. The company is high demand, little respect. They demand you make your job the number 1 priority in your life, but also reprimand you for getting overtime. We are understaffed and over worked. Labcorp worries about 1 thing and it is how much money they can make! They don't care about their employees. They pay as little as possible, not even fair market. They promise you great things, but you have to walk a million miles on broken glass to get it! I 10/10 recommend NOT working for Labcorp!!!

Pros

Your coworkers are amazing

Cons

Everything else!

Great Coworkers and Extras

Pros: amazing coworkers, environment and managers. Company car SUV paid for if you’re a courier. Gas card to use for your company vehicle that you can use for personal use. They don’t give you a route that’s too overwhelming. Felt like a second home. No drama, good people and a good secure job. Cons: insurance could’ve been betterIf you love driving and routine, it’s a great job and company. The head courier manager is amazing. She was patient and kind.

Run as far as you can!

Lab corp micromanages all the time. While the coworkers are excellent to work with, upper management scrutinizes your behavior constantly. The entire morale of Labcorp is depressing! You will feel it as soon as you enter the building!

ineffective and inefficient

DO NOT work for this company. I relocated out of state to float for this company and got terminated for my “hours”. Bad management, extreme workload, bad pay/little compensation. 6 bosses total in 12 months, working out of territory within contract while employed and usually only 30 minutes lunches. Management works from home, they are very unprofessional and inappropriate. Be careful! They average around 150+ patients a day at most PSCs and only typical run 2 employees (3) on a good day if they can find the only ones wanting to work. They have averaged around 50 opening positions for the last 13 months. Walk-Ins allowed. No proper training. Unorganized.

Pros

1 Hour Lunch

Cons

•Bad management, No Staffing, No control

Good Management

Labcorp is a great company. I wasn't there for too long but in that short span, I have nothing negative to say. Good management makes a wonderful work environment.

No communication and the work culture is based on clicks

Overworked and underpaid no OT or enough (PLB) PTO accumulated , no teamwork, negative energy, not enough pay, no incentives, no communication between staff, management is incompetent.

Pros

No weekends

Cons

Overworked

Fast Pace

Its like youre an amazon driver, but for lab work. Very fast pace some nights you don’t get a chance to even look up the entire shift. Not bad hours if youre a night owl, pay will net you like $570 bi weekly for part time. If u live close to location itll help a lot with gas.

So much wrong

Management is way too top heavy. Benefits are decent but very expensive insurance. They should’ve educated themselves more on how a hospital lab works before acquiring so many. Differentials were a nightmare. Time keeping is even worse. That large of an organization and they don’t have a time keeping system that doesn’t require a manager to manually put in you worked a weekend. Puts more work on manager and then you have to review to make sure they remembered to put it in and hope they still can before cutoff if missed. Limited on 2 job postings in whole state even though every site is critically staffed because their poor decisions caused a mass exodus of techs. Staff required to work overtime to prove a vacated position is needed before it can be posted even if that vacated position leaves you with only one tech that can work nights. Holiday pay for night shift is actually on the holiday and not the eve. So example for thanksgiving the holiday pay is for Thursday night shift and not Wednesday night shift. They need to make a lot of changes for improvement if they want to maintain the few employees they acquired.
