A joke of a company, lousy management, money grubbers.
Maintenance (Former Employee) –  Burnsville, MNNovember 20, 2014
I was recently let go for messing up my hours on my time sheet. It clearly states by signing it every 2 weeks upon turning it in you acknowledge it to be correct. Problem is they want it weekly, so after half the payroll period an office assistant entered my time and they fired me for it cause it was not correct. Every thing is handled over the phone or via email or conference calls. Your park managers have no authority to approve anything to be taken care of they have to get approval from above which takes weeks on end. They pay nothing! I worked there for 5 months started at 12.50 hours. I actually heard an upper manager say they ain't paying no one more to cut grass. Problem is you don't just cut grass, you plow, you repair inventory homes doing electrical and plumbing, fixing furnaces or hot water heaters. Crawling under homes to repair water lines or winterize them. (Its mobile homes) Cutting down full blown trees, rebuilding storm drain inlets or cleaning them out. This company is led by a bunch of women. I suggest anyone think twice before applying or working for them. I even went to put my check on exempt status and they argued with me telling me I can't and called the IRS to verify if I could. They told me I was not a pastor. They tell us to order what we need out of a maintenance USA catalog to complete work orders, we put in our orders and then they cancel them saying that's to much. Insurance benefits are a joke I am single with children their cheapest is 135.00 per pay period, and if you need ER it is a 400.00 co pay. Yeah right making 12.50 hour???? I and my co-worker  more... had to bring in our own equipment to work with because they won't supply the tools you need and yet they tell you not to use your own. I will give another example. In September upper management came to Arbor vista in MN. They have crumbling storm drains, Electric pedestals with trees engulfing them, fire hydrants that don't work ........... you know what these women were concerned with, CRAB GRASS! Crab grass. They said we need to spray these weeds we'll get you some backpack sprayers, that was mid September and it's a good thing we got them so fast. We have snow on the ground temps are at zero and we got them 11/13/2014. I had one electric pedestal that needed parts (that's where the meter is) I told them they need an electrician who has the parts and can shut power down at the transformer to repair, the wires were burning. The home owners have only half power. A week later they finally call someone. One other home owner has this same problem and her pedestal needs to be replaced she still sits and waits she has only had half power for months. I may sound like a disgruntle ex employee, I'm not!!!!!! I am just making sure no one else takes a job with this worthless company. I worked there for 5 months, started with one manager who was employed about 3 months prior to my hiring, they fired her. they hired a new manager who quickly quit in a matter of less than 2 months now they are looking for number 3..... in my short time there............ It's a pathetic place to work for go to McDonald's or something, shoveling dog feces would be better! I rated them at one star, I would choose less if it let me!.......................................... would not let me post all my cons, here they are :Low wages, No materials, No tools, they want you to travel all the time, On call every other week with no compensation. High medical plans. Clueless management. Mountains of paperwork.  less

maintenance (Former Employee) –  Devonshire Apartments Portage Mi.January 15, 2013
Maintenance supervisor was condecending, abusive, arrogant, racist, & prejudice. A typical day consisted of him ordering you around like a child. The work wasn't hard but he made the job miserable. The hardest part of the job was dealing with him.Absolutely no overtime pay even for on call. They would make you take the time off the following week & no benefits at all.The most enjoyable part of this job was going home at 5:30 & looking for a new job.
Pros
none really
Cons
everything
