As a long term Lancaster native and employee, I have seen this community continue to decline in care and their status with state regulations. Management and owners can not get this right because they don’t care. Family owned business, yes but too worried about the profit and Operations manager that is incompetent who fires administrators, marketing and anyone else she can blame. The only negative consistent influence is her. Give it up, you’re not helping people, you’re killing them with incompetence and uncaring for the training of your staff. Are you waiting for the state to close you? That isn’t too far down the road. Caring for an individual is the most important job in the world, not to be taken lightly. Not one cent is put into staff education and turnover in fact quite the contrary, all was taken from the employees. Years have proven you have no idea what you are doing, or replace your regional manager for a leader with a clue who will manage the problems not pass the blame. Do it right or give it up. Someone’s life has no room for your continual mistakes. The community has had enough, time to report these NHA licenses who consistently put residents at risk year after year, showing no sign of improving conditions just taking the almighty dollar and other professionals position to take the blame.

The Job Doesn’t Care About their employee’s, they hire agency and will cancel regular staff
The scheduler will put regular staff on schedule and then if agency picks up they will cancel you

The Job is Unreliable

Management and home office are all bullies and very intimidating. You are not properly trained to do your job then expected to know every detail of it. And then if you need help, you are spoken to like you are an idiot. The HR department is unorganized and unprofessional. They don't go over benefits with you at all and if you ask questions about them you get ignored or told to refer to your handbook which doesn't have all the answers. Unrealistic expectations from administrator and director. Hard work is never appreciated or acknowledged. It is also difficult working in a place that does not treat its staff or residents right.

This place doesn’t care about the patients or employees. They don’t offer any rehabilitation to the patient and I’ve seen families take their loved ones elsewhere...I wouldn’t recommend this place to work nor to stay

CNA's are always short on staffing. Especially night shift. Sometimes we have to work with only 2 CNA's for 60 residents. We have too many bariatric residents with not enough help, and they no longer have a locked dementia unit so all of the residents wander at night into other peoples rooms and bother the other residents. Sometimes the residents manage to elope in the middle of the night because theres not enough staff to keep an eye on everyone.
Pros
You definitely get a workout
Cons
We're understaffed, overworked, and under paid.

This job has helped me to grow as an RN and a manager. Working in administration has taught me a lot in the long term care setting. Most days are fast paced and go by quickly. Some days can be stressful but overall this is a great place to work.

Employees are overworked and under appreciated. Management claims to be supportive but are quick to punish or dismiss for human mistakes. If you voice an opinion you are labeled as having an "attitude."
The leaders are young and inexperienced and have little regard for the experience and knowledge of more mature employees.

Emphasis is placed on good patient care but better care might be provided if the staff were cared for.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Negative environment to work in

Working at Lancashire Hall has been/ continues to be a great experience for my nursing career. The fast paced atmosphere makes the day go by quickly. If you are positive, down to earth, and a team player you will fit right in. In my experience, the residents and my co-workers make Lancashire Hall feel like home.
The health & dental benefits are extremely well/ reasonably priced for employees and their family.

There are incentive educational programs for employees that include: CNA to LPN and LPN to RN
Pros
Health/ Dental benefits, room for job advancement, tuition reimbursement, training/ education provided by the company

It was an establishment with very judgemental people who instigated and didn't care about those around them. Especially the elderly who resided there.
Pros
Interaction with the elders without having to bring them all to the mess hall.
Cons
Many times the elders wanted to go to the mess hall and were not taken
